So I've kept myself busy since releasing the latest update. One of the things I wanted to do immediatly was cut that large room you enter for the underwater minecart tunnel - in half. Which would also mean making the proposed glass tunnel dock to the new route into that room. The only problem being is that I've no idea what to do for the back of the room going spare now:
(Minus the glowstone now as well):
Tunnel:
The ender-dragon portal is coming along now after making more black concrete also:
The second main thing was changing the trading area farm again, or at least the trapped villager. Following a different tutourial, I've opted for the trapped villager above ground rather than below it with further villagers trapped below that one in the glass roof below the floating platform. Due to where the farm is, it does mean the singular trapped villager is on a floating platform outside and above the glass roof of the farm. (Out of zombie reach though.) I had a lot of fun (Not) creating dirt tunnels to get a villager up to the plaform and villager(s) into the catchment area in the glass roof below him!
It worked for a while but after three new villagers stopped. I thought the ones in the trap were to high up and so let them down and got new ones in a block lower and still nothing. In the first picture, to the left of the glass ceiling; I had to put fences (Fake trelis?) on that oak stair roof to stop zombies crawling onto the glass roof. Similary, (Although I don't like how it looks), stone slabs across the low iron fencing to stop zombies climbing over. The zombies are getting smart however. When I'm on the other side of the new glass dock they will use the tunnel to come at me, until they reach eye line with me of course. I am next to a stone-brick pillar though, so as soon as they get in-line with it on the other side - they turn back around again. Some are smart enough to actually use the glass dock however and come through to await their glorious death at the hands of my flaming sword!
In small news, at the Half-way House the kitchen diner extension from long ago and further along the chunk wall minecart tunnel' both only had stairs on the edge of the old chunk wall. For both on top there was lumpy ground with spruce trees which really bugged me when looking at it on the giant wall map in the map room as it looked silly. Although hesitant, I removed the trees and terrain on both and filled in with spruce planks, stairs and slabs giving them full roofs. It looks much better on the map now and the kitchen extention now has a raised roof because of it, instead of the flat dirt/stone one it had.
Lastly, I'm back to the new half-flanking towers on the sides of Mount DOOOooom's walls. Yesterday and today I've been doing it on the opposite side by the ocean. The front faces are still very, very plain and need a little work but that'll come. I need to figure design & detail, just the basic structures so far.

After two weeks it's literally the title, some small updates.
This goes for things like replacing the lava in the lighthouse to dealing with the storage problem for arrows. With the first, I've changed it to a redstone lamp connected to a redstone tick so it flashes. Right now it's only one redstone lamp howerver so even though it is small you can see it flasing at night - just. I've thought about strobing redstone lamps (plural) but it presents two problems 1) my redstone knowledge, and 2) the bigger problem the lack of space - it'd have to be very, very compact. I will have to do my research.
With the arrows, after fillng the enderchest again I moved the storage enderchest (Not my inventory one) next to the crafting bench so I could make the regular singular chest next to it a double:
Now I can fill my enderchest up again with new stacks of arrows!
The other problem I had in storage was the singular chest for damaged armor from mob fights, awaiting repair before going into the armory. I had already filled the singular chest and bits of armor were creeping into the "General Items" chest. Having watched too many Mumbo Jumbo videos (As I'm subscribed to him.) I used his idea of using ice to transport things and got the idea for an armor transport chute from storage to the armory directly into a double chest. After working out the mechanics of where the chute had to go, there was only one place it could be situated:
At first I used a dropper but there was a backlog on the ice so I switched to a dispenser instead, now I can just pop them in and hit the button; knowing it'll go directly to the armory. Also with added anvil in there too.
Weather
It never rains in my world mainly because at some point in optifine I turned off weather - and then forgot about it - forever. So no only did I turn it back on, but I enabled rain puddles as well. So here are a couple of pretty pictures just for the sake of it.
Building stuff:
One main thing I wanted to get rid off was this that I started but never did anything with, mainly as I was unsure what to do with it.
Behind the facade was a the flat ugly chunk wall - and this was no better. Many months ago on my creativce copy of the world I had created a little dam/water dam thing and finally went to work making it happen on the actual world:
With the original ugly cobble wall, my minecart ride ran parallel behind that ugly cobble facade, if you look in the new pic to the just behind the left side of the log/fencing border you can see a new tunnel actually in the chunk wall. The new tunnel goes from downstairs in the station now, opposite where you leave to go back home. The new tunnel does render the upstairs and it's tunnel useless now, and at first I blocked all the tunnel off, unsure of what to do with upstairs. Since then, I have decide just to make it a fictional apartment for the "Station master" (Also fictional!).
very recent extentsion for extra room:
Lastly, at the Chunk Plaza...
I used the last of my white concrete and did the inside apartments outer wall, it's corridor and using the last of my glowstone to light it up. This is the corridor between the outer exterior building wall and the actual apartments' outer wall, which I don't think I got round to showing as it was mostly cobble then.
I also finally made up a new batch of white concrete about 6 - 8 stacks (With the chunk plaza being situated neart a part desert)to do the apartment block roof and get rid of the grass of the chunk wall on top - as it looked silly on the map. By the time I was done I only had 11 blocks of all those stacks left.
Map changes - Chunk Plaza specific (Upper right)
The last map is because I got back to removing layers from the top of the third Chunk Plaza building on Wedsnesday. On that day I got from layer 18 down to 14, on Thursday down to 12 and yesterday down to just 10 layers for that low, low building! (Future cafe.) With the shape of the chunk wall next and to the left of the third new building, I decided the fourth will be a skyscraper type office building. Retaining the chunk wall height there, I temporarily roofed over the top in dirt after building it up several layers more.
That's about it.
By next Friday I should've reached the desired level with the roof height of Chunk Plaza building #3 doing a couple of layers a day. Also on the maps, the gray bridge that goes to the island to the left of the chunk Plaza, was extended slightly. Just to give it a slightly more tubular (Like totally tubular dude!) look on the map. The water/dam thing also looks cool on the map to the left of that bridge/crossover. I also like how you can see all of the tudor building roof now on chunk plaza building #2 after removing a very ugly jutting forward out bit of land from the original chunk wall.
*Technically I have not reached the 7 year mark "in game", which I worked out to be day 2555, currently I am on day 2388. (Almost at 2400!)

Rather than an update, today's post will be about my 2018 goals.
Some things will be obvious that I don't need to go into detail like the chunk Plaza development, all I will say there is that it will continue. I'm also less than a 100 days in-game (95 to be specific) until I go to defeat the wither fo the very first time in this world. Yep, I'm holding out until I actually reach 7 years in-game around day 2555. So this will be happenning very, very soon and will be a different kind of update.
Mount DOOOooom
Over the past two - three years a lot of work has gone into the outer look after deciding not to stick with the original shape of the mountain it was. The main tower has changed a few times, perimeter walls have gone up, corner towers, detailing those towers and overall to look better, new bridge from the back across the water etc etc etc.
In 2018, now is the time to go inside. I don't want these to be just hollow buildings I want it to look like someone lived there, old style medievil kitchens, bedrooms, a throne room, main feasting room etc. Maybe I should have specialist things there? Super furnaces for smelting, who knows.
Halfway Station Minecart track re-location?
This idea has only come about in the last few days, literally. Before 2018, in the last month; the only idea was building an out building from where I launch the minecart at the rear of my mountain home. When travelling back at night, especially from the Chunk Plaza development, it would get dangerous when exiting the minecart at the rear of my home. I turn around there's a creeper there, it needs to be safer. So these past 2 sdays i've been on my creative copy of the world trying to design a building, with limited success.
After coming up with a reasonable design (Trying to move away from light stained gray glass and stone bricks - again!), another idea came to me about re-locating the tunnel for a more aesthetic build. I know there are some caves on either side of the existing walls, so it occured to be to dig a brand new tunnel parallel on the left side. A much more wider and aesthetically pleaseing tunnel, after all I do like my one from the back of the science lab. So why not just do it in the existing tunnel you might ask?
I thought about this too, but the idea of turning the existing tunnel into a dedicated horse/donkey tunnel is too appealing. Turning the coarse dirt back into grass land with a path (Using the shovel) and lining the edges with grass from bonemeal, tall grass, flowers - make it very nature like. A dedicated horse/donkey tunnel that is safe and easy to travel through, The new tunnel would be much wider, better looking and would come out to the far left side of the station. (For which another small low extension on the left side may be needed.) There would be two tunnels now to this destination.
At the beginning of the tunnel (Although the entrance will still be from where it is) there will be a big glass window at the end of the tunnel about here:
This is the idea I'm considering at least. The design work on the creative copy has gone very well.
Other bosses
I still haven't decided about going to a brande new chunk and trying to find a stronghold for the end. I can make X amount of ender pearls, but I'm still undecided. A better prospect would be doing the same and trying to find an underwater ocean temple, I'm better equipped for that. As I say though I'm undecided on both, but more adventuring would be nice.
I'm really looking forward to the aquatic update and seeing nice corals & fauna, dolphins and turtles from my underwater minecart tunnel. That's all I can really think of for now however.

It's mostly the shader (Kuda shaders) plus optifine. The shader in particular has a really nice reflective quality especially on stained glass, which I always use instead of regular glass. Light grey stained glass is a nice replacement for the default glass.

The Countdown to the Wither!
At the moment there's no point starting large new projects or continuing ongoing large projects until I go and defeat the wither on day 2555, my official in-game day for playing this world for 7 years. I am currently at day 2500 now with only 55 in-game days to go!
In the meantime, I'm doing what I see as "Smaller projects", including starting the new minecart tunnel that runs parallel to the left of the existing one to the Half-way House sub-station. The existing one becoming a secure nature-floored tunnel exclusive for donkeys and horses eventually. It wasn't too bad - on one day I dug on either side of the tunnel leaving a big chunk down trhe middle, then on another day did the left and right sides of the middle piece leaving a one block with wall all the way along.
There will of course more to the outside of the large glass window, with decoration around it and pillars eventually. Also the cobble for the top of the tunnel walls are a temporary place holder for now, like the underground part of the underwater minecart tunnel there will be a colored stripe all the way along separting the two different building blocks decor. The ceiling inside will not remain flat either.
The other thing I've been thinking about over the last month is relocating the farm animals - sheep, pig and cows. I've been weighing up whether I want to separate the sheep from one big pen into seprarate pens for each color. On my creative copy of the world I built a barn into the mountain wall behind the pig and cow pens - but I didn't like that. Within the last week it came to me.
At the horse and donkey barn there is plenty of room for expansion there for other barns. The only trouble is there's a bit of a sand pit there and always has been.
On my creative copy, I test built down in the sand pit, but for the actual survival world; I have decided to terraform and "Build it up" with layers of dirt to give me more flat room to build. In the end it took three layers of dirt to cover it up.

I died a good few times during the night - mainly when trying to go get my stuff back empty handed. For the last level I had found a bow with mending in storage that I didn't know I even had! Suffice to say I killed mobs with the sword, switched to bow and then collected the xp - it's fixed already. I've also been trying to get a new sword ready as my one is almost spent, had to do some grinding at the mob farm to do that. (Fun as I died there too as there were a lot of mobs around the farm and at one point and a creeper exploded - took the zombies with him but exposed lava behind the walls. Had fun cleaning that up!)
I also took pictures of the newly terraformed land in the other seasons resource packs of painterly I have - as I wanted a clear shot in other seasons to see what it looked like before anything gets built on it.
Right now my sword has: Bane of Anthropods IV (No separate sword for it soon!), Fire Aspect II, Looting III, Unbreaking III. 1.6 attack speed and 7 attack damage - same as my single Bane of Anthropods sword, which is in the orange of durability currently.
I will most likekly split the reast of the time between the tunnel and the new future additional barns.

Exactly twenty in-game days after hitting the (In-game) 7 year mark on my world, I finally beat the Wither - for the first time legit survival. As you can tell from the title things din't go too well. First things first, I should mention that leading up to "The date"; I had a lava related death losing everything in my inventory. It happens though. As well as having to do a bit of grind to get some of those things back, it also meant mainly that I was now not as "Ready" as I was before the disaster.
Tries 1 & 2 - With these it was a simple case of just withering away despite bringing milk, access to cows constantly would help. This is why I went through the Nether and the portals to my far away land where I got all the clay that time, situated in a swampland. I also think having my texture pack on with the invisible leaves for the "Dead trees in winter look" also made it harder. Not just for the Wither, but for me trying to shoot it. I should mention though on try #1 I did get the Wither down to half-way enough to start attacking with the sword, so I could've done it in one had I been more prepared.
Try #3 - I went to the desert this time, no trees and located a good distance away from the chunk plaza. Again withered but also struggling to get out of craters formed by the wither.
Try #4 - was significantly better. Back to the swampland, default textures - and when I died yes I did use tp x3 to get back there due to distance. At least I kept going back though than immediatly giving up and, this was the longest most intense fight with the Wither. This was due to using my original plan of using the dug-down stairs to the mineshaft I'd already made on that aforementioned "Clay trip" a long while ago. Using the mountain as I fougnt on the man-made one-block wide descent helped alot, although not so much with the swamp water coming down from the top & trying to fight a stream, drowning and the wither!
Try #5 - Before this attempt I updated my bow, I already had unbreaking III and infinity snd I think flame on it but went to my enchanted books and added power IV and punch I, and it made a huge difference and hurt him alot more. He led me away and I think it's only because of this small shallow cave, more like an under-pass, that I got him trapped and was able to keep wacking him with the sword after getting him down to half. I think he got stuck initially? As I did so, I scrambled to try and get my finger over F2 to capture the moment but only got 2 shots and then the aftermath. (Also in my stumbling I accidently hit F1)
It was honestly more of a shock to me that I finally won, than anything. I am currently building my beacon and am on the third tier having used up all my iron from storage.
Building updates
My parrallel minecart tunnel I was working on, currently doing the roof:
Need to shorten either end of the exterior glass roof canopy.
As I will need lots of stone and stone-brick I also got the idea before the wither fight to extend my auto-smelter at storage and create three more, there was room for expansion. So aside from this:
There are also these two:
Also +1 round the corner currently being built.
For now I finish the beacon, then return to the tunnel and chunk plaze projects.

A great entry on delayed satisfaction. I recall the first time I handled a Wither; it was a night of tension! But that's what made it so much fun. Three years I waited in my world for that fight - nothing compared to seven, but still long enough to hold anticipation. It sounds like you enjoyed the event - hopefully you can efficiently reap the benefits of your new superhuman powers!

Thanks buddy! I went and got the last of the iron tonight, I thought I had 5 blocks to finish what I was on - then the last 18 iron blocks (The underneath and top layer). Turns out I already had done the underneath blocks so I used the 5 for the 9 remaining and went and got the rest to finish it. (Also 20 more diamonds also.)

Do you play in snapshots, or just official releases?
And at any point in this thread, did you take screens of your stat screens, those are always very interesting for me to look at, at least everything except play time because this games play time counter is so screwed up by the massive amount of survival AFK for serious players.

*I still very much play it all the time, seeing new adventures, having to go further for new block types or passsive mobs etc. As my building technique had evolved I've been knocked things down or improved them on a big "Regeneration scheme" - If I hadn't around 2014ish I might not still be playing this world.
*Due to the uncertainty of snapshots, bugs etc - I only play this world in official releases. I do play modern snapshots - I just make sure I don't have this world in the saves file and have it backed-up.
*Finally - the stats. I've only ever took maybe a couple of screenshots of them at most at all, let alone in this thread. It's not something that really interests me personally as would definetly be inaccurate of play time as they most like have been never backed-up, probablly reset. I can do it for anyone intereeste in things like "Times made (Tools, weapons etc)/mined, time walked, slept, riden this that or the other", though it probablly wouldn't be that interesting!

By stats, I do more so mean the amount of each of the blocks mined, tools crafted, etc. I do understand there's been past issues of stats being reset here and there, but still thought I'd ask. And with my current situation, I've done many hours of testing today and find that the newer snapshots aren't compatible with my older world, which was started around 1.8. Every time I load the world in the last few, it converts a few chunks at a time to the new world creation format, so that might be an issue come the next official release for older worlds.
It is always a worry, especially with big major changes in generation like this one, it makes me always wonder if my world's days are numbered.
I made a copy of my world to load in and test - and so far so good. No funny chunks but then we have also yet to have the fish/coral blocks & dolphins added to underwater also. I don't get any sea grass or kelp in my imediate area but then you can bonemeal underwater to achieve sea grass and can always transplant kelp from newer chunks to plant in. Technically the biome my home is in is a very old version of the "Ocean biome" which is what it still says so it may not be temperate enough.
Will keep posting on anything I find though.
EDIT: Spoke too soon, 2 crashes one after another, caan't even load the world now.

Halfway House tunnel V2 // STOP THE MADNESS!
The other week (After defreating the Wither) I continued on the parrallel minecart tunnel to the Halfway House station, specifically the roof and floor. It took a lot of stone bricks for the roof working on a very long - tunnel length dirt platform but was worth it. The ground is also completetly coarse dirt. This last week I concentrated on the top half of the walls (Which was a different material to the lower stone-brick part), but had to go across the seas to get plenty of it. I also did the colored stripe between the two materials and changed a few things at the entrance.
The station now has another extension on the left side to accomodate where the track ends:
Since I took these pictures I started adding glowstone hanging froom the tunnel roof but I need to get some more. The wooden planks under the tracks were a very last-minute addition, I tried spruce logs but it blended in too much with the coarse dirt. All the tracks were lifted from the original tunnel which has had all it's floor returned to grass to be a dedicated safe passage for donkeys & horses.
Viilager inter-breeding
Before I move on with projects I went down to the mob grinder and got a couple of zombie villagers to cure & add to the trading area. Unfortunatley only one survived as one turned before the other. I got one up to the library then the other when it happenned and put myself between them trying to put down blocks to separate them - which is when I died. Just before I did though I managed a killing blow to the zombie villager - not what I wanted, but it was him or the new villager. I also got a farmer again (Hmph.), and had to break the wall of the underpass to get him in the library after he'd run upstairs and wasn't being very co-operative. For the same reason I also had to use minecart tracks to get him across the library.
When i finally got him in the trading area, I tried to get one of the other villagers up into the suspended "Villager trap" section, but both escaped. Another two that also went up also got to the outside (Thankfully it was daytime), so I had fun getting them back in. Currently I have none "Trapped" but somehow it's for the better as they've started breeding again - and them some. I had maybe between over 1/2 a dozen - a dozen villagers, now close to two dozen at least maybe even 30! They won't stop breeding!
Before:
After:
So much so, that I've removed walls inside the "Rooms" so it's one long elongated space as there's so many of them! After a number of cartogrophers I finally got a librarian again after the old one drowned ages ago, but now I have things like a weapon trader and fletcher. I've removed all wooden doors on the "rooms" but they're still breeding - and changed the door to the neighbouring art gallery to an open arch so they can wander in there due to how many of them there are. The Nitwits are the worst for breeding, slowly as they got near the iron door I've inched them out to the outside world and left them to nature - that has slowed down breeding greatly at least.
There's a few things I want to do i the old former halfway station minecart tunnel before I move on then I will wither return to the chunk plaza development or Mount DOOOooom.

Post November D/L Update
Bottom of the map wall between towers before:

All the.. small things
(Almost at 2400!)

wow, long time no post.

Thanks!

FINAL MAP:

Five Times The Charm!

LP series? Not my style! Video series? Closer, but not quite. Survival journal, maybe? That's better. Now in Season 4 of the Legends of Quintropolis Journal (<< click to view)!! World download and more can be found there.
It's been a while since I last visited this thread! Glad to see your world is always expanding
Thank-you! I've been taking some new pictures for the very first page as well so I'll be trying to update that soon also.
I'm considering Easter for the next download release, for those interested. It'll have to be zipped/compressed again however.

Oh wow... I couldn't build that in a million years. Great job! I love it!
"The beauty lures the stranger more easily into danger." - Septimus Heap
So after all these years, you still play it?
Do you play in snapshots, or just official releases?
And at any point in this thread, did you take screens of your stat screens, those are always very interesting for me to look at, at least everything except play time because this games play time counter is so screwed up by the massive amount of survival AFK for serious players.
Thank-you!
