A very bad one. I can barely stick with a world for a day now. The same for texture packs, I've tried quandary (too close to the original), painterly (a bit noisy), and doku/eld's (don't like the RPG feel).
How might these horrible diseases be cured? What textures do you recommend? What do you look for when you decide to keep a world?

Build somthing cool, somthing that takes a long time. Then when your done, you'll want to stay in that world because you wont ever want to do so much work ever again.
If that doesnt work just get a bunch of iron, and build minecart tracks to an entierly new area, that way it feels like a new world. And after you do it a bunch of time you'll have a huge minecart system that goes all over your world.

I mine gravel with a pickaxe, how do that make you feel.
I know exactly how you feel. I always find myself creating a new world, nearly every day.
I suggest trying to play the game differently. Instead of starting a new world and doing what you always do (I assume collecting wood and trying to make a shelter), try something different.
Maybe you could set yourself little challenges, such as "I must build a glass house before the first night"
Or try planning a megaproject, like building a massive castle or something, which might help you stay focused on one world.
but as far as textures go, I just use the default with betterlight/bettergrass.
The only way to fix this disease is to create a RS account, buy membership, play for a month, get bored of it, come back to Minecraft once you realize how much you miss it.
Generate a world and walk around for one minute and decide whether or not to keep it. If you don't want it, quit and delete, then generate a new world and repeat the process. When you finally settle on a new world (and you better be playing on at least normal difficulty), survive your first night and start building a home. Think of a mega project to work on, with some side projects on the side to mix things up a bit.
If you feel like you're going to delete the world or going to generate a new one, then just don't play at all until you're willing to go back to that same world.
If all else fails, ask yourself: What would Sean Connery would do?
If you refuse to accept and commit to the world you spawn in just because it's not perfect, then you're bound to get bored. Instead of creating new worlds over and over, just force yourself to create a new world and stick with it no matter what. Even if you don't like that world for whatever reason, just adapt to it. You will get a new experience, and overcoming the challenges will be very rewarding. Or if your spawn area really is just too crappy, then take advantage of the infinite world technology that Notch worked so hard to create. Don't create a new world; migrate to somewhere new in your current world.
ssp commands by Simo. I'm up to 31 different waypoints. at -16000 -16000 starts my "hard difficulty" world, at 32000, 32000 is my demo world, 0 is my spawn/non deform, 16000, 16000 is "defilement".
Seems that I need to stop building 5x5 houses directly around my spawnpoint as soon as I load up, intending to build something else but never doing it. Of course, if falling snow returns my 'cozy mountain lodge' mentality might be revived...

What I did for Minecraft was generate a world and build a shelter relatively close to my spawn. After creating a suitable base, I explored. It's amazing, even the simplest of worlds can hold grand sights; just because something doesn't immediately tickle your fancy doesn't mean that you must abandon it. Give that a shot.

...its a little weightist to assume everyone is the same size. Like some people are skinny and some people are fart.

Great Scott! TEXTUREGASM. This is an instant win, I love blendy simplicity. Now... to fix my world-regenerating addiction.

Minecraft Wonders see the megabuilds that every minecrafter dreams about!
Sean Connery has much more class than that. Yeah, he'd punch out a creeper, but he's way too cool for a line that crude.
