I wanted to find a spot in a 1.2 world to rebuild my stuff from my 1.1 world, so I used MCedit to view the map, and there were a bunch of disconnected chunks in the new map. It's shown in the picture. What's going on here?

I'm going to be a realist and say fish. If I'm wrong you can send me a pm calling me a long-legged picadilly.

Heh, I was expecting something along the lines of this: Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
I have something sort of similar in my main world which is very large (68mb). Instead of a sort of cloud-like cluster, it's a couple of very straight rows of chunks that extend outward far enough to pretty much double the width of the map.
@Ozril: is that a theory, or is that a documented occurrence? It does make some sense.

It happened on my world as well, but his does seem a bit too big... hmm =/
edit: well maybe not, can't really tell the scale by the picture
Maybe, except it looks like it goes out 12+ chunks, and last I checked it was only a 9x9 grid of chunks centered on you.
