Occasionally, I'm struck by very... unique... ideas out of boredom, which I generally go along with, since my sanity has long since been discarded for the sake making life more amusing. Today, I was struck with a particularly stupid idea.
Person on pig on pig on minecart.
I had been reading around the minecraft wiki for unusual properties of certain blocks, when I noticed the bit of trivia about riding a pig in a minecart. Having hopped on my server, tested, and confirmed that that was indeed possible, I had felt the need to experiment further.
But not before making a carousel with minecart pigs. Wheee!
Hey0's mod has a /mobspawn command, which has a pretty obvious function. It also has a neat little trick, though: typing /mobspawn Spider Skeleton will produce a skeleton riding a spider. But it works with any mob combination, including /mobspawn Pig Pig. I tested whether I could ride the uppermost pig if it was riding another pig. Indeed I could. I further tested it with a pig on a chicken. Interesting note: the chicken can still fly while being ridden by a pig and a player.
With that in line, the last phase of the experiment was carried out: seeing if I could combine the minecart pig trick with the pig on pig trick. I cleared out the carousel of any remaining swine (their mother's will be satisfied to know that their kin died in the name of science), spawned a pork tower, and slapped a saddle on the uppermost one. It took a lot of nudging (and ramming into at high velocities) to get it to work, but it was worth it in the end:
The results were not perfect, due general bugginess making the minecart and the two pigs fling around quite a bit, and oddly enough I was apparently seen as standing still by other members of the server, but such is life. The results were satisfying enough even with those flaws.
I would like to further experiment in the future with trying to ride a ghast using a similar process. Possibly a ghast in a minecart, as well, provided I can get it not to blow the bloody thing to bits. I would also like to confirm that nobody was hurt in the process of this experiment. Just a couple of dozen of pigs and a chicken or two. And a sheep.

It was a success.

...And maybe a cow.
That may have had to do with everyone else's reaction to them than anything else.
Edit: Oh, and Giants riding spiders were fun, too. Skeletons on ghasts, unfortunately, didn't work too well.
Cannot aggree more with you!

Next challenge: Add a boat to the mix.
Video quality is ****, but not enough that you can't see what's going on, hopefully.
^First I have to figure out how to get a pig in a boat...
