I assumed I was helping her overcome her fears and sadness to get a happy ending but that...
that was...
aaaaaaaaaa.
Very very sad ending especially since most didn't even know it was going to happen. Now I wonder how I absolutely could not have predicted the ending...
It was truly a great game, I'm quite sad these kind of games are difficult to come by. I play a lot of games, but the only ones who come close to causing a large emotional stir in me were Cave Story and Yume Nikki.
But Yume Nikki's ending kills me. Even more than Ico or Shadow of the Colussus despite the ending lasting less than 2 seconds.

What a tweest indeed!
Yeah I'm an indie gamer and I know what you mean.
SPOILER ALERT x2 COMBO:
Cave Story was only really bad if you weren't paranoid and looking for secrets like I was.
I'm surprised I got the 100% "good" ending.
So yeah.

I am making a minecraft "disaster log" that sort of pulls on my heartstrings.
Actually, with particular modding tools (once they're released, of course), this can be done without Notch even lifting a finger. The only thing he'd need to do-- or another program, perhaps --would be to create the monsters. That's all, really.
Edit: And provided someone were to take Minecraft and create Survival Horror Minecraft from it, I would play the living hell out of it.

You mean to say Minecraft isn't already a Survival Horror? ._.
Don't you ._. me, mister sir. I will ._. you right back.
Anyways-- I meant a psychologically harmful survival horror, something akin to the games they were discussing in this thread earlier.
Minecraft should remain what it is now, and not become a psychologically harmful survival horror. Minecraft isn't supposed to be like Yume Nikki, and those two games should be kept apart. Yes, Minecraft is still scary at times but its only a side experience; the main experience is building, creating, and survival. Usually without the horror part.
If someone wanted to play a psychological horror game, they might as well play Yume Nikki, not something extra that's in Minecraft.

I feel the same way. As I said before, were someone to make a mod for Minecraft (like they did for the portal mod), and used some of the modding tools that'll eventually be released, someone other than Notch could make a heavily modified Minecraft that's thematically a psychologically harmful survival horror. That'd never be implemented in the mainstream game, nor should it be.
But as a side thing, some sort of optional modification, it'd be pretty fun. You know what I mean?

If I remember correctly Notch was going to eventually release the source code, correct? (I could be entirely wrong, but I'm pretty sure he said this). Anyway, when that happens I'm sure all sorts of mods will pop up. Most likely one like this will arise.
the idea of this is just... excellent.
i didn tplayed yumme nikki, i saw videos and wikias (wow a indie game, non finished, being not updated, has a massive fan base and a wikia) and i know all the "story".
damn mokoto and uboa, i cant get them off my head.
minecraft, since it has a lot of bricks and tiles, and they can be weird and corrupted, could be better if it had more than an "normal" adventure game.
you explore a weir dworld, and in the middle, you forgot why you are doing that, but you keep doing it.
you character is alone, the other mobs (animals/persons, its more of minecraft) are almost mute, and they dont react at you, but some ·hostiles" that scares you, persuit you, and SSSSSSSSS you (crap...)
i like the idea, and i want a yumme nikki in minecraft.
PLUS: it can be better to see your own dreams in 1st person.

I'm an old school RP character? Awesome. Paladins/crusaders FTW!
Yume Nikki's Ending TOTALLY ****ED WITH MY MIND.
I couldn't sleep.

Also I wanted to post this:
Yeah I got bored.

Okay I see your point now.
I definitely would play it.
