Chicken Nests will promote chickens to lay eggs. When a chicken sits in a chicken nest, it will lay eggs 3 times faster than it normally does. Any eggs it lays will remain in the nest for collection.

You place the nest on the ground, or a shelf, or a room, or where ever and a chicken will jump into it when its near and sit down.
Incubators can make eggs hatch. An incubator can hatch up to 3 eggs at once, and will make CHICKS :biggrin.gif: Incubators run on Coal. When you right click, it will show each egg, how close it is to hatching and you can place moar coal in the coal slot.
Baby Chicks. hell yes.
Incubator recipe.
yellow is a Chicken nest.
When the incubator is done and the Eggs hatch, the Incubator will spawn X ammount of Chickens. (X = how many eggs you had in the Incubator.) The Incubation process lasts about 2 days.

Seeds are seeds. You place chicken feed on the ground, and chickens will eat it. It makes Baby Chicks grow too.

Sooo... when's the next seecret Friday update topic going up? =[
I don't like the idea of placing an object to do stuff to mobs. It would make the game too easy. Within one minecraft week I could have a square kilometer of nests and basicly get an unlimited amout of eggs. Instead I like the idea of having to build a certain structure to have things like 3x eggs happen. Maybe you could put the chicken into a 1x1 box (pen) maybe with the nest and then the 3x eggs wopuld happen. As for the growing chicks it doesn't fit minecraft ATM and sounds to much like another game I can't remember the name of.

You probably meant harvest moon...
The thing is, what DO you do with a unlimited supply of eggs? You egg someone's house?

If you concentrate like this, in one Minecraft week you can have unlimited any respawning resource. Tree farm, wheat farm, reed farm, a Minecraft week is plenty to have all of these things become self-sufficient. Why should mobs be different, exactly?
It seems like I will be able to make infinite eggs using this method... Its not like Harvest Moon where you have a limit on how many chickens you can have.
That said, the amount of livestock needs to be cutdown.

Why, yes, but as said above, I think this is consistant with every other farmable resource in the game. It does not take long at all before you can get infinite reeds. I guess if it was a timed thing it might be bad, because the eggs would pile up without you doing anything. I guess, like plants, chickens should respawn until a point and then stop. So, like, a chicken in a coop or nest will lay an egg, and will stay there until the egg is removed by a player.
something like that anyway.
