alright, so hopefully Notch will implement an ingame clan system, where you join a clan. Maybe too, he can make like Clan Land Claim system as well, so if a member of certain ranks creat a land claim, it's property of that clan. There should also be options to se wars and treaties. For example, We have Clan A and Clan B (I will call them A and :cool.gif:.
So A and B are in a rivalry, and decide to settle the feud. One clan sends the other a war invitation, and they begin war. The way a war will end is if a Clan Leader has been killed by a player of the opposing clan, or if all of one's clan's land claims have been sieged (I think i made a thread about land claim sieges, check it out) So if A defeats B, then A gets all of B's land claims. And of course, with whatever dignity B has left, they can choose to enact revenge and start another war with A and reclaim their rightful land!
However, let's say A wants to start a war with B, but B wants to remain peaceful. A can send up to 3 war invites, all of them costing resources, and then A will have the option to go into Assault Warfare with B on the 4th invite, which would cost A even more valuable resources. During Assault Warfare, B can only protect their land claims, and not attack A's, as B is the defensive. If Soldiers of A enter a B land claim, then they will recieve a combat penalty (i.e. they have less health, do less damage, but not to the extent where victory is impossible) If B can fend off the A soldiers for a set period of time (maybe 2-3 hours) then A will suffer defeat, will lose resources, and all land claims taken from B will be rest back to B. Of course, A doesn't have to set an Assault Warfare, and they can just choose to part ways. What do you guys think could be some improvements to such an idea? I think this would sort of implement smart warfare, so instead of just running in like barbarians, the higher power can come up with a strategy to most benefit his clan. Of course, you could run in like barbarians if you wanted
There shouldn't be an in-game clan system. Support for groups, certainly, but not clans specifically. People should be able to form large groups that can be called clans, but we don't need an official clan system for this. Even more-so, we don't need an official support for clan wars. If people you have decided to work with attack those other people who work together, you have what amounts to a clan war. Creating a complicated system to handle this is unnecessarily, and will unfairly favor certain styles of play over others.
Well, the only reason why i think there should be a clan system as well as a war system is because there would be some people who don't want their land claims all ****ed up by some clan war they have nothing to do with, but i don't know, i've been trying to make suggestions that please both the players who just want to mine and build, and players who just want kill in an organized fashion
There shouldn't be a complicated system to manage basic functions. Attacking other people is pretty basic, spending resources and creating war requests is completely unnecessary. As other people say, if you really have a problem with raiders or warfare then don't play on servers that allow it/non-private servers.

By balance, do you mean make it totally worthless?
