What is Colored Redstone?
Colored Redstone is a suggestion for reducing the complexity of wiring by allowing different colors of Redstone Dust.
What does it do?
Colored Redstone Dust (Bluestone Dust, Greenstone Dust) work just like regular Redstone Dust.
However, each color has its own connection channel, meaning that Bluestone Dust won't join with Greenstone Dust, and Greenstone Dust won't link with Redstone Dust.
In addition to the wiring mechanics, there is a limit of 2 Dust per block.
TLDR; Redstone can pass through Bluestone or Greenstone, but not both. This applies vice-verse.
How does it behave?
Colored Redstone Dust can both activate and be activated by any Redstone-compatible contraptions, such as Gates, Repeaters, Torches, and Comparators.
Although Colored Dust cannot connect with differing colors, they can still activate each other through these blocks.
For example, while a Redstone Block and Dust will ignore Bluestone Dust, Redstone Dust linked to a Repeater or a Logic Gate can do so by-proxy.
In addition, if two opposing wires are connected to a Comparator, the strongest one takes priority.
TLDR; Bluestone Dust can activate a Redstone Repeater, which in turn can power Greenstone Dust.
What can it do for me?
Colored Redstone's main purpose is as an organizational tool.
However, its largest uses would come from its compression abilities.
For example, it would allow a Repeater-powered Bluestone wire to pass through the Redstone dust that activated its power source, removing the need to build around the original circuit.
How is it crafted?
Colored Redstone can be crafted by combining a Redstone Block (9x Redstone Dust) with a dye, creating a Colored Redstone Block.
The Colored (Bluestone, Greenstone) Block can then be split into 9 pieces of Colored Dust.
The color is merely an indicator of what has been placed, and has no relationship to the actual wiring, other than providing the fact that an channel of dust cannot pass through it.
TLDR; Colors mix and match, but that does not affect the wiring's output.
While they share the same purpose (Circuit Compression), our suggestions have a few fundamental differences: - (For the sake of organization, my suggestion will be called Colorstone, and his will be Bluestone)
- "Bluestone has the exact same properties as redstone, but doesn't interact with redstone in any way."
- Colorstone is identical to Redstone, but the two can still indirectly power each other. Bluestone is completely separate from Redstone, whereas Colorstone is "channel" based.
- Bluestone has its own unique set of Redstone items (Bluestone Torch, Bluestone Repeater (?)) that does not interact with Redstone. Colorstone acts like a "layer", and works with preexisting Redstone contraptions.
- Bluestone is mined and/or fused, whereas Colorstone is created through dyes. Now granted, he could've come up with a recipe like mine (Block + Dye) had he posted his suggestion later, but this fact still remains.
While our suggestions share a similar goal and names (Bluestone = Color + Stone. Most people associate Blue as the opposite of Red, and Green belongs to the RGB spectrum.), they are still pretty different, at least from what I can see.
I support. It would be nice for packing redstone into tight spaces. But wouldn't some of the names, like limestone, sound like things they might add as blocks in the future?
I absolutely hate when my redstone links together in a useless circle! Then i have to redesign it and it looks all wonky and ugly so i definitely 2 thumbs up GIVE SUPPORT!

How will I identify the Dust?
When Dust is stacked, the placed Dust changes color into a mixture of the two.
Redstone + Bluestone = PurpleBluestone + Greenstone = TealGreenstone + Redstone = Yellow
The color is merely an indicator of what has been placed, and has no relationship to the actual wiring, other than providing the fact that an channel of dust cannot pass through it.

Thanks, and I read through his suggestion.
