Look, the idea behind this as getting new 1.8 stone ores, is a good one. Sandstone, obsidian and other older stones probably don't need ores to match. Especially obsidian. Just imagine how impossible it would be to get a Nether Portal in 20% of obsidian becomes coal ore, for example.
not too bad! but i do think that ores sshold have a more percentage of spawning on the different type of stones. ex: basalt or what ever they called it spawns coal, sandstone is mostly coal, iron, and lapiz
Basalt is not in vanilla Minecraft, do you mean granite?

Timeless Modding is kinda dead but idk what to put here now
Perhaps this should be rephrased as 'ores in every TYPE OF block'. I was about to post saying how terrible of an idea this would be. But honestly this would be a good idea. Support, please consider rephrasing the suggestion.

To those of you suggesting new uses for Emeralds in the suggestions forum: Emeralds have enough uses. You can trade with villagers to get diamond armor/tools/weapons and enchants. Stop suggesting that Emeralds are useless, and learn to play Minecraft. Thanks.
To add to the idea: if ores appear in every block you'd need a new block for the ores: because the default one is still in stone. Maybe some rocky rubble the color of the ore? Like you broke the pieces of ore out.

I had to re-read this because at first I thought it meant "Ore in every block" meaning everyblock you break it has an ore in it! So that's why I had to re-read it again ,but I realized what it truly is ,and I fully support! I like this idea ,and all for it!

I like the idea, but for clarification. will the ores still spawn at their normal levels, because I don't really want diamonds spawning in dirt blocks on the surface.

No, no. Ores will spawn normally, just they won't limited to just chillin' in stone, like they do now.

I would recommend allowing ores to spawn in any stone, if only for the sake of consistancy. Still, the obi thing is a non-issue for two reasons.
First, ore-infused obsidian could never spawn, as obsidian only forms after world gen (with the exception of end pillars, but I don't think ores even try to spawn in the end anyways).
Second, even if ore-bound obi did form, there is no reason it would have to stop working for portal use. Also, obi tends to form in big enough chunks that you could easily get 10 obi from a given lava lake despite a coal vein cutting through it
