Maybe you do not want to support, because you would think that ores would be everywhere, but, NO. Ores spawn as a metadata to an existing block in place where normal ore block would be.
This is an incredible idea. Get Jeb on this for the next snapshot. Or Dinnerbone. Or Searge. Just get someone on it, it's just necessary. Total and utter support.
Sounds good, but granite + iron is practically invisible.

I support it but only for the new stone variants, Andesite Diorite and Granite.
Uhh, what's the point of calling it "Ores in every block" if the ores will just be available for Andesite, Diorite and Granite? It should've been called "Ores in Andesite/ Diorite/ Granite".

It does makes sense since ores can only replace stone (ignoring metadata so they can replace the new stone types, which can even replace themselves, leading to andesite being the most common type by around 10% since it generates last); anything else such as dirt, gravel (generated in the same manner as ores themselves, before other ores/stone), sand, etc prevents ores from generating at all* (fun fact - the code that adds features to the End attempts to generate all the normal ores but ores can't generate in End stone so no ores generate, not even sure why they have it in there).
*You can occasionally find ore embedded in dirt or gravel veins but that is because they generate randomly in an area up to 32x32 blocks (extending up to 8 blocks away from a 16x16 area where chunks are populated) and the ore generated first from a neighboring chunk, then the dirt/gravel.
That said, it would be easy to accommodate any block if the ore texture was a transparent overlay, except for the streaks (similar to how grass in Fancy has an overlay applied to it to cover the default grass side texture), and the replacement for metadata in 1.8 allows for a much larger range of values (any block ID, which can be thousands, then you have to consider that blocks like granite, etc are themselves variants of stone and the data differentiating them has to be separate from the ore data).
"Ores in every block" is a suggestion tat allow ores to spawn as metadata in existing blocks these ores would spawn naturally in andesite diorute granite and stone but with commands you could create any block/ ore combination.
not too bad! but i do think that ores sshold have a more percentage of spawning on the different type of stones. ex: basalt or what ever they called it spawns coal, sandstone is mostly coal, iron, and lapis

1. Ores should have the meta.
2. All the materials found in the mines are supported. e.g. dirt, stone, stone variants, and gravel.
3. Every supported block only has a set of ores it can go with based on the block's value. e.g. dirt would only be able to have coal and iron.
4. Blocks can only have ore types as long as they are in the respective y coordinate that the ore spawns in. (logic.)
5. Gravel ores (with a different ID because metadata shares properties and ores do not fall) when falling will leave the ore drops behind

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
I have NO idea what to put here.
Essentially, what this person wants is to have ores put into the new, 1.8 stones, so that the ores with old stone look out of place in 1.8.
