Ok so, since there's slime blocks that throw you in the air now, I was thinking adding pillows (Maybe putting wool 1x2 in crafting table, like a pressure plate?) that stop all fall damage , or just make wool negate fall damage a little or something, maybe have wool just lessen it. But yeah, little idea. v:
EDIT: Maybe have beds lower fall damage too. (not completely, just like, 20-30%)
Also, the pillow could be crafted with 4 wool in the sides of the table, and 1 feather in the middle and it gives you a pillow or two.

I know, but I don't really like water as a fall damage blocker because it can be unattractive in some places, and this way it can be used without a hole in the ground.

Opinionated "I don't like" reasons don't defend anything. You also don't need "a hole in the ground" just to place water somewhere.
I actually don't think this is a horrible idea. There could actually be several place I'd prefer using this over water, one being on a parkour map with a long fall, instead of landing in water and having to swim over. Or, instead of having a hole with water, you'd land on a block level with the surface, without bouncing back up like with the slime block.
There's already slime blocks and water, not to mention other blocks such as the web, ladders and vines to do this.
Furthermore, if beds would stop you from taking fall damage, I propose that each time you jump on a bed, it gets damaged, then eventually gets destroyed. Well, it's a bed.

Don't argue with idiots. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

And slime blocks themselves. It doesn't take long to lose momentum from bouncing on a block of slime.
Hmm.
Sorry.
I say no support.
