As many people can say, Nether Stars aren't very useful right now. I know they can be used for beacons, but I feel like it really shouldn't stop there. There really could be more uses for it. Here are my three:
Easier Wither Spawning: When a Nether Star is crafted with two Wither Skeleton Skulls (shapeless recipe), it gives you two Wither Skulls. The Wither Skull looks just like one of the Wither's Heads. After arranging the soul sand properly, you only have to place ONE Wither Skull on top of it to spawn a Wither, making the Wither a lot easier to spawn as you only need two Wither Skeleton Skulls two fight two Withers.
A Wither Enchantment: When put in an anvil with a sword or axe, it gives the enchantment Wither Aspect, which works less similarly to Fire Aspect then you think. Level 1 has a 10% chance of inflicting the Wither Effect for 10 seconds. Every level afterwards increases the percentage by 5%. Every time a Nether Star is applied, it increases the level by 1. The maximum is 5 (30% chance). Every application of a Nether Star only costs 3 levels, however. Cannot be combined with Fire Aspect.
The Nether Chest: Works like an Ender Chest, but crafted by surrounding a Nether Star with Nether Brick. This creates a Nether Chest, which looks like a Chest made with Nether Brick (duh). However, it is a seperate storage cloud from the Ender Chest and has the room of a Double Chest inside. An efficient network takes a few Nether Stars, but using the first suggestion, this isn't as hard as you think.
For the first suggestion I'm wondering does the nether star get used up in crafting? And if it doesn't that would be useful to stop people from having to constantly grind to make things with nether stars since it's already bad enough to get the materials for a beacon base. As for the wither aspect enchant it would be one of the weakest and most difficult to gain enchants in the game as the wither effect is really weak and the chance of it being applied are way too low.

It does get used up in the recipe.
And Wither Effect is more powerful than you think. It can kill mobs and is slightly faster than poison. Plus, 10 seconds will do a lot of damage. A 10% chance is still basically one in every 10 swings. So sure it's not gonna work on every mob you hit, but it could still be useful.
Hmm... I thought about it and am sorry to say I don't like any of this except for the wither enchantment. I'd also like to see a poison variant. Half-support.

I changed the first suggestion so that it's one Nether Star with two Wither Skeleton Skulls to create two Wither Skulls, so it's actually useful.
I also added the Nether Chest to the thread. Works like an Ender Chest, but double space and uses a seperate storage cloud.
I think this idea is great and gives the Nether Star a lot of uses. Support!
Thanks!
I still find it lame that Nether Stars are stackable up to 64 when they only have one use. If these are implemented, it makes sense why you'd stockpile Nether Stars.
1. Nah, I don't think an easier method of spawning Withers is necessary. If you have that many Wither stars that you don't know what to do with them, you probably have an efficient system of farming Wither skeleton skulls.
2. Since the chance is 30%, you might want to tone down the duration of the Wither effect.
3. I think a double chest is a bit too much. Maybe the storage of 1.5 normal chests?
Support. The withering enchantment could use a slight cutting down in length, especially considering how deadly it would be at max, and combined with Fire Aspect. Maybe 6 seconds instead of 10?
I support all except the wither aspect. In my opinion, wither aspect would be op especially for PvP.
Not many people have a lot of Nether Stars. It takes an extremely long time to get the wither skeleton skulls just to fight just two withers. It's very hard to stockpile Nether Stars. I figured that since my suggestion added two new uses to the Nether Star that could be used several times, Nether Stars should be a bit easier to get without making the Wither easier.
This is a good idea, but what I think REALLY needs more uses is the dragon egg.
Support.
The Dragon Egg is there to make you wonder what it does. I don't think, at least not anytime soon, that it's going to get a use. I think there should be a way to obtain it, but I think it shouldn't have a use. I think it should just be there as a trophy.
