On Halloween, some of you may know that we have pumpkin headed mobs. As we have an easter egg for halloween, how about for other events? And how about making them special?
Basically, on four different days/events every year, mobs would have a chance of spawning with special items/armor. The items would not be otherwise obtainable.
For Halloween, we would have a "Pumpkin Hat". 25% of all armor-wearing mobs would spawn with it, and there would be a 10% chance of getting it upon murder by players. Instead of being a regular jack-o-lantern or pumpkin, it would have rounder eyes, a straighter mouth and actually look like a carefully carved pumpkin. Looking out of it would have less black spaces and more vision. It would still stop endermen attack.
For Easter, there would be "Bunny boots". Passive mobs would have a 50% chance of spawning with them (they would have white bits on each foot) and have a 10% chance of dropping them. They would look like white leather but with bristles sticking out. They would also give a tiny bit of jump boost, allowing you to jump over fences.
For Christmas, there would be a "Santa Suit". Villagers would have a 10% chance of spawning with one and those who do would offer a special trade which would take 16 emeralds for their suit. After traded, the trade would vanish, you automatically exit the trading screen and the villager lose his special clothing. The suit would be enlarged at the waist slightly and almost completely cover the pants. This would permanently multiply your hunger saturation by 1.5.
For New Year, Creepers would have a rare drop of a "Holiday Firework". There would be a 10% drop rate of 1-2. When released, the firework would fly up until it hits something or reaches the height limit, and then explode into a grass block (the iconic block of Minecraft) with colors and everything. Stuff would pop out from the explosion point and fall down. Most of it would be iron, weak armor and gold, but a tiny amount of it would be enchantment books, diamonds, emeralds and music discs.
These events would last for the specific day of the event and 2 days after, lasting for a total of 3 days based on your system clock. They're not too overpowered, unless you change your clock and cheat for tons of Holiday Fireworks, and the armor pieces last as long as leather and give no armor points. Basically, just some easter eggs to show off and prove that you're not a no0b.
U liek?

Why Minecraft mobs should NEVER have multiple attacks:
- No other PC mobs do. - Mob behaviour is intended to be simple.
Why you should NOT name new "special ability" weapons as "XXX Swords":
- No other swords have special abilities. - Make a new kind of weapon.

Where do I start,
Okay, here,
Not everyone celebrates everyone of these holidays,
They only added the halloween easter egg because they already had pumpkins in-game.
The new years one, though the most celebrated, is highly overpowered, even if it is rare.
The christmas one, seems like it would be a hassle to get an item that does next to nothing.
and the Easter one seems kinda useful, but redundant, for there are potions that can do that.
So, No Support.
So...these are all hats, huh?
Definitions are becoming broader each day....
And no support, the only "collectible" thing that should be in the game is the capes.
Heaven knows no-one would actually wait for those times to come to start collecting them.
I am not supporting this topic, and here is why:
Pumpkin hats: This is essentially just changing the textures for pumpkins.
Bunny Boots: 1. Not all Minecrafters are easter-celebrators, and 2. I just have this image of cutting off the feet of a giant rabbit and wearing them as shoes.
Santa suit: So, 16 emeralds just for a longer saturation time? Pff. That is kind of pointless if you ask me.
New year fireworks: This is extremely OP, especially at the drop rates that you put it at. Get an xp mob grinder, get a stack in about half an hour.
There are my reasons, no support.

Ever hear of something called running away? Its like running towards them, but without the confrontation and death.
