No, what I am saying is that infinite water PLUS infinite lava EQUALS infinite obsidian. And making the only block [other than bedrock] that's immune to creepers and TNT infinite doesn't seem like a very good idea.
It' already infinite, first of all, and it's actually very easy to obtain in large quantities without ever even going to the nether.
There's a difference between infinite and renewable. All materials are infinite, and while obsidian may not be renewable outside of a few bugs (which I think were patched), it's still easy to get several thousand pieces of it from a single cave system, if one is persistent enough to mine it all.

Attention all you humans - Who feel the overload
A message from the underworld - We finally broke the code
There is no god in heaven - There is no answer fit
Just a phantom overlord who says that this is it, I said yeah
this cant be an infinate obsidion maker. there already is an infinate obsiodion maker. you know how to make a cobble genarater? well place redstone there and it makes obsiondion. thx! support cuz why not?
I'm half and half on this. On one hand it seems overpowered, because you could make an infinite source right by your portal and have an infinite supply of the best fuel and the most destructive item in the game, and at no risk because you can suround it and the Nether Portal in Stone. On the other hand if you are in the Nether there is more Lava than you will ever need anyways.
I want to see what others have to say but I'm leaning towards not caring if it is added, but not wanting it.
Over powered? I don't think it would matter since there are oceans of lava probably about 30k buckets.

You have to go and collect the lava from oceans, it takes time and is dangerous. (and anoying because lavabuckets don't stack.)
If this would be added, you could just have infinite lava pool next to your portal.
You could even automate the lava production.
1: Make named effiency 5, unbreaking 3, fortune 3 diamond pickaxe
2: Try to repair with diamond pick (is "too expensive")
3: Try to repair with diamond (About 37 levels)
The use of the furnace is slowly going away with the exception off
hardened clay
and cactus for green dye.
For gold you can have gold farms(no more smelting gold ore)
For iron... same thing
With food, if you have a fire aspect sword, no need for cooking food
All im saying the furnaces uses are slowly diminishing

I sincerely doubt that. While there may be alternative methods for obtaining these items, I think they are far less reliable and/or more expensive to set up or perform. Smelting with the furnace will remain a staple mechanic.
Regarding the original suggestion, I am indifferent but if pressed for a yes or no, I would say "no" to infinite lava sources. I can see where you're coming from - since lava is already more abundant in the nether and takes on altered properties there (flows faster and further). But to me, this feels like a change that is not worth the effort... because it really doesn't change anything - so why bother?
I won't complain if it gets implemented, but I just don't see the value added by it. Even you initial post doesn't really give any good reason to convince me why it should be changed.

Iron farms are extremely tedious to build; with gold it's even more so.
And I doubt you'd be able to build those farms without using a furnace first.
(Also, an enchanting table REQUIRES an iron pickaxe to make)
So...what's your point exactly?
You seem to love going off on random tangents.
The problem with infinite lava sources is that it would make obsidian an infinite resource as well.
It's already a renewable resource. The easiest way to get it is to sleep in a bed by an end portal, jump in and mine the obsidian, jump into the portal back to over world, repeat.
So no one makes iron tools anymore?
Or buckets?
Or cooked food?

I'll explain someone was saying that this is a bad idea because it will be too OP giving you infinite amounts of the best fuel in the game
So thats why I mentioned gold and iron farms. Idk what exactly started the talk about diamonds

I don't think it's really OP at all. As you and I already said, lava is practically infinite as it is. It's just a matter of convenience, and I fully agree with you on that.
I just thought you could be a little creative, that's all.

well if they sell diamond tools the only real purpose to go mining for diamonds is enchantment tables and d blocks for beacons....not much more
plus who smelts diamonds anyone?
If you are smart you save the ore till u get a fortune pic

You could take the lava to the overworld. Duh.
