Lets say your just mining like so, when you fall into something like this:
WHAT IS IT?
Its a new sub biome found at least 25 blocks under ground. Its the size (and shape) of a small cavern.
Pants?
This biome comes with one new tree that stands 3 blocks high. Its called a fungi tree. Its brown with orange and purple dots and lines. The leaves are dark green and black. Makes "fungi" planks that are light brown with purple and grey dots and lines. You can see them in the corner of the above picture, and like any other plank, they do not occur naturally. Drops a sapling like any other plant.
A new type of flower called a "under bloom" can also be found in this small sub biome. It stands about a block high, is blue with a white dot. (Don't worry I have pictures.) Can be crafted into a "dark blue" dye.
You will also find light purple vines called fungi vines.
Dirt/grass?
The block you walk on is called a fungi block. (Equivalent to grass block.) It is dark purple with dark red spots scattered on it. Fungi tree sapling can only be planted on fungi blocks.
When you place a fungi block around dirt blocks, the dirt blocks in the surrounding area will turn into fungi blocks.
The grass in this biome is purple, but will give you normal seeds like any other.
Other blocks?
Deep glow stone is a new dark blue (and white) version of glow stone found in this biome. It is in packs of 3-6 just like in the nether. Emits a dark blue light. Can be found on walls or cavern ceiling.
The star fungi block is a new block that sort of makes some of the walls and ceilings of this new biome. Its black with little white dots that, in a way look like stars when in the dark. So it emits a tiny amount of light.
New mobs?
One new mob called the fungi pig. Its a pig that naturally spawns in this biome. Half of it is blue with fungi, and the other half is a normal pig color. Drops things normal pigs would. And yes, can be ridden!
Pictures?
Biome in general:
Fungi block:
Fungi Tree with underground grass:
Cavern-glowstone and Star fungi blocks:
Under bloom and Fungi Vines:
Fungi Pigs:
Why should this be added?
Why not? Its more variety with new blocks. And makes mining more exciting. I sure would love to have a underground base (with a farm of fungi pigs) in this neat biome.
Its a new sub biome found at least 100 blocks under ground. Its the size (and shape) of a small cavern.
Obsolete, you can't go 100 blocks under without hitting bedrock.
Jk, it sounds pretty cool but I think it should just have normal mushrooms and mycelium like we have now and have it be a natural underground generation. Just gives more ways to get mushrooms. I personally don't think all these are necessary.
i think the word you might be looking for is "structure". Biomes expand infinitely vertically (as far as I know) and the effects of the biome is confined to a small area. Maybe let some of the blocks act as a spawner.
Other than that, full support. However, I think you should reuse the mycelium and mushroom theme, as they're the most well-known and symbolic fungus.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Why Minecraft mobs should NEVER have multiple attacks:
- No other PC mobs do. - Mob behaviour is intended to be simple.
Why you should NOT name new "special ability" weapons as "XXX Swords":
- No other swords have special abilities. - Make a new kind of weapon.
I'd think this would work fantastic for a mod. Maybe use something similar to how underground dungeons, or underground cities are made? (look up generator-mods) That way every time you find one it's different and randomized, instead of being the same thing.

For some reason, this reminds me very much of Cavi Cape Cave from Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. So, for that reason I support it!
Also, you may want to make new fungi-like mobs instead of taking existing mobs and making fungi versions of them. Take the Borp(from same location and game mentioned before) for example. It looks like this:
I like the idea, or at least parts of it. Though, why not just use the mushroom blocks already in the game? We have giant mushrooms, we don't need fungi trees. And we have Mycelium, so we don't really need the fungi block either. And Mooshrooms, so the fungi pigs aren't necessary either... And I don't see how the cave can be 100 blocks deep, when the ground is usually only ~70 blocks deep.
Well, I like the general idea. The implementation not so much, though I appreciate the effort you went through to change the texture pack and stuff to make a visual representation! (Unless those are just screenshots from the mod you're referencing, if so shame on you! )

Support or not, thanks for reading!
Ps. I am a texture noob btw
Actually, I think it looks closer to Dwarf Fortress caverns.
Terraria mushroom caverns are much higher and sort of multilevelled.
Well, do you support?
Yes, pretty much anything in Dwarf Fortress works in Minecraft.
Obsolete, you can't go 100 blocks under without hitting bedrock.

What is Dwarf Fortress? Im interested.
Just build the darn thing already!

Now include a fat Creeper with a lollipop that walks around the biomeIndeed.
Although I don't support this idea I do support other ideas that offer new underground generation.
