Okay, maybe enchantments can be added per bola. And will cost 1-3 ex. But the effect wont be that effective. Thats if i decide to add enchantments, and the poll is still online
This is a great idea, but this is much too expensive. Leads use slimeballs and string, which are not cheap materials. Maybe if the bolas had longer usage, or a different crafting recipe. Or leads, for that matter.

One look at this suggestion and it's already game-breaking, it's a awful combination of a slow potion plus the ability to deny any target actual movement. 5 seconds is long enough for anyone to land powerful decent hits on any target.

Passive Mobs- When you throw the bola at a passive mob, it will wrap around there feet at they cannot move until killed or until bola's wear off. (5 seconds long. SUGGESTION! How about for chickens, they instantly get killed? (Cos, like, they get strangled. Gruesome)
Hostile Mobs- When you throw at hostile mobs, you will get different effects. Allow me to break down, again.
Zombies- Move 3 times slower for 5 seconds. Same with zombie villager.
Skeletons- Cannot move for 7 seconds. Arrows are more inaccurate. Same with wither skeletons. Shouldn't they shoot like normal, because skeletons never move?
Slime- Bola gets stuck in the middle of the slime and the bola does not effect it. But 100% chance you will get the bola back.
Creeper- Cannot move, and detonates on spot. SUGGESTION! The creeper would explode and the bola will hit YOU!
Spider- Just like the passive mobs. Same with cave spiders.
Spider Jockey- Knocks skeleton off the spider, and the skeleton cannot move for 3 seconds. They're considered different entities
Witch- Same effect as zombies.
Blaze- Cannot move for 3 seconds. Wouldn't it just burn?
Magma cube- No effect, bounces off the cube but you can pick it back up. Wouldn't it just burn? (Again)
Ghast- Will fall to ground and cannot move or shoot for 5 seconds. Wouldn't it be too fat to be wrapped? (Lol, that rhymes.) Also, ghasts cannot fall to the ground as they are flying. (unless, of course, the bola is VERY heavy. Maybe, if crafted with gold, it will make heavy bola?)
Neutral Mobs-
Enderman- Cannot move or telaport for 3 seconds. Turns hostile. Kinda strange, as endermen can teleport while holding blocks. (Unless the bola is an (inter-dimensional) anchor, meaning that anything it touches cannot teleport away)
Wolf- Cannot move for 3 seconds. Will turn hostile.
Players-
On a server, bola's will make other player go 2X slower for 3 seconds.
Other-
Horses- Cannot move for 3 seconds.
Ocelots- Cannot move for 5 seconds.
Some suggestions. A few criticisms. Nothing much. So;
