Too bad we're talking about the golden porkchop suggestion. You can stop trying to redirect people to your thread.
That was not my intent; I was giving my opinion on the topic at hand by providing an alternative solution to the problem that the original poster has brought up. You make it seem as if I simply linked to my topic, which isn't the case - I still gave a legitimate criticism and simply provided what I think is a better solution. Surely you see that both suggestions are about the exact same problem but with different proposed solutions - I added to the discussion by adressing the problem at hand ('pigs are useless') by providing an alternative solution to said problem.
Another criticism that just popped into my head: if anything, this suggestion is improving Zombie Pigmen more than it is improving ordinary Pigs! (because Zombie Pigmen drop both ingredients necessary for the Golden Porkchop - if this was implemented, I'd be better off just farming Zombie Pigmen)
There are four things I look for in a suggestion. They are originality, creativity, usefulness, and just plain a good suggestions. You have all but the last one, but only partly. For some reason, there is something I don't like about this, but I can't figure out what. I'll support, but partly because there isn't a reason not to add it to the game.
No support. It fills up your whole entire hunger bar, and gives you way too much saturation. It's also way too cheap. A porkchop which is renewable, and gold, which isn't too rare if you have a branch mine. Plus, if you get two so that you can brew one into a potion, it pretty much makes you have full hunger for an extremely long time.
I do think that pigs need more to them, but not like this. I also have to disagree with you on how they are "useless". They are just as useful as they have been. The only reason that people think that they are useless now is because of the addition of horses. You can still ride pigs, and they are a very good source of food also.

Pigs are in fact useful. But there's no reason to waste time on a pig farm when you can use cows that also drop leather, or chickens that also drop feathers. Leather and feathers are almost required if you're playing survival seriously so we might as well skip pigs who have no other use. Almost everyone agrees that pigs need a second item, but it isn't going to be a ... lol ... golden porkchop.
I really like it. What if there was a level system for gold pork.
Hear me out.
The least expensive ingredient is 8 gold nuggets and a cooked pork.
That is a level 1 pork. It heals the least.
For each ingot increase the level by 1.
If you use blocks you gain a heart + increase the level by 3.
Full support. I think we need a use for gold and this should be it. Tweeting to Jeb.
Thank you for the support! The idea of leveling up is interesting, and I might consider this!
PS: Did you seriously tweet this to Jeb?
I support. Has anyone suggested a golden potato yet?
Thank you, and I don't think so. I hope people don't spam the threads with gold foods threads.
PS: When you said you supported the idea, were you being sarcastic?

By 10 hunger, I meant 10 hunger points not 10 meat legs. Half a meat leg is 1 hunger, so it gives you 5 meat legs.

I didn't say there were useless, I said they were obsolete. I am aware they can still be ridden.
What about adding the ability to 'corrupt' the potion of nourishment by adding a spider eye when brewing? This would make a potion of hunger and drain another person's hunger for about 30 seconds or so.
Also, if you brew a Potion of Nourishment with a Fermented Spider Eye, it would become a Potion of Hunger! The Hunger effect is already in the game. There is a 30% chance to get it via eating a Raw Chicken, and an 80% chance to get it via eating Rotten Flesh, but as of now, it has no potion. This new potion would be dull green. It wouldn't have any effect on other mobs, but it would be brewed with gunpowder to make a Splash Potion of Hunger, which would be pretty useful for PvP.
I sorta like the idea of the potions, but they seem relatively weak (hunger only having an effect on players, and there being better ways to damage an opponent than starving them.
The porkchop itself, however, I can see being rather useful. It costs just as much gold as a golden carrot, yet it's stackable and more portable than the more expensive cake (well, more exotic). In a way, though, I could also see a weaker version for golden nuggets, as it is rather expensive to be used regularly.

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?

I didn't intend it as a food that you would use everyday, I meant on occasion, like a golden apple.

I know another idea how this can be crafted! Tell me if you like it
GGG
GCG
GGG
G=Gold Nuggets
C=Cooked Porkchop
This is like how an golden apple "normal golden apple not the powerfull one" and a golden carrot is crafted too!
Hope you like it
This seems a bit too cheap, but thank you for the idea!
I like this, but I think that it should be 5.5 or 6 drumsticks. I feel weird about the fact that it only restores 1 drumstick more than normal pork. The only thing I don't like is the nourishment potion. Immunity to hunger drain? Overpowered if you have a good supply of pigs and gold. Other than that, good idea. This definitely helps pigs a lot!

So, you think that it should restore less than a regular Porkchop?
Thank you for the support, though!

"And so I go fast. Not because I want to, because no one else will."
I don't think I support this... the solution to pigs obsolescence should not be to simply take an already existing feature and make it more powerful.
Plus, I don't feel like we need any more gold-plated foods.
I personally feel like I've come up with a better use for pigs here: http://www.minecraft...island-seekers/
But that's just my two cents.
Sorry, I don't support.
I've actually read your idea and I do like it!

Pigmen still drop Rotten Flesh, not Porkchops. That would be pretty funny if they dropped Porkchops, though. A slap in the face to all pigs lol.
Please read these two threads:

Except that there are better alternatives that already exist.

adding more unique food on minecraft looks nice!

I already posted this as part of my suggestion.

No, I actually meant it.
This seems a bit too cheap, but thank you for the idea!
Thank you, then! I wasn't sure because of you saying that last gold potato part and so I thought you were being sarcastic.
