So I had a couple ideas for enchants and I thought I'd share them! You can post yours as well!
Swiftness
Footwear enchant
Tiers I, II, III
25+ levels
This would make you run slightly faster. It wouldn't be extremely noticeable, but if you are running from or after and enemy, it will come in handy!
Leaping
Footwear enchant
Tier I
20-25 levels
Tier I would allow you to leap 2 blocks rather than one. Gliding
Footwear enchant
Tier I
30 levels
Pretty rare enchant
Same effects as feather falling, plus you jump further.
Double jump
Footwear enchant
Tier I
30 levels
Very rare enchant
Allows you to jump in midair allowing you to jump higher and get over objects better. (cannot be earned with Gliding or leaping.)
Heavyness (for lack of a better name)
Footwear enchant
Tier I, II, III, IV, V
20+
Affected less by knockback. (both regular knockback and knockback enchant)
Tier V of Heavyness means you are unaffected by knockback at all.
Awareness
Headwear enchant
Tier I, II, III, IV
Level 12+
When a hostile mob/enemy becomes close you can hear its footsteps better.
Example:
Tier I, you can hear them from 4 blocks away
Tier II, 8 blocks away
Tier III, 12 blocks away
Tier IV, 16 blocks away
Chitinous
Armour Enchant
Tier I, II, III, IV, V
Level 1-25
Resistance from Spiders, Cave Spiders and Silverfish
(Idea from IareNinja)
Accursed
Armour Enchant
Tier I, II, III, IV, V
Level 10+
Resistance from Skeletons, Wither Skeletons, Zombies, Zombie Pigmen, Zombie Villagers, and all other Undead Monsters.
(Idea from IareNinja)
Counter
Sword Enchant
Tier I, II
Level 20+
With a well timed block, you do a counter attack that causes twice as much damage and pushes the enemy back a bit.
Tier II does even more damage.
Warp
Sword enchant
Tier I, II
Level 27+
When hit, the enemy has a 15% chance of warping about 5 blocks ahead of you.
(Idea from ULiopleurodon.)
Causes a nice Ender particle affect
Sacrifice
Sword enchant
Tier I,II,III
Level 28+
Very Rare enchant
When killed, you steal some of the enemies health. Tier I = 1 health. Tier II = 2 health Tier III = 3 Health
(Idea mostly from Uliopleurodon)
Reach
Tool Enchant (not swords. just tools.)
Tier I, II, III
Level 30
Rare Enchant
Allows you to reach further, depending on the tier.
Tier I = 0.5 more
Tier II = 1 block more
Tier III = 2 blocks more (Rare)
(Idea from th3cleaner)
Range
Bow enchant
Tiers I, II, III, IV, V
Level 15+
Allows arrows to be shot further and to drop less.
Tri-Arrow
Bow Enchant
Tiers I, II, III
Level 30
Shoots 3 arrows at once. Yes it's been suggested before, but allow me to go into detail with this. Pros:
- Can shoot multiple enemies at once
- More likely to hit target
-Good for larger enemies
Cons:
- Uses lots of arrows
- Less accuracy
- Less Power
Shooting three projectiles with a single shot will be useful for taking out the big enemies and groups, it will have less power and use more arrows, though. If you aren't worried about that, then this enchant will be perfect.
He's undead, Jim.
Stun
Bow Enchant
Tiers I, II, III
Level 25+
Causes mobs to be stunned (they stop momentarily and look around for you for a second)
Causes a blur affect on Players.
Tier I, when shot, the target has a 1/10 chance of being stunned.
Tier II, Chance of stunning target is increased by to 1/8.
Tier III, (Rare enchant) Chance of stunning target increased to 1/5!
Piercing
Bow enchant
Tier I
Level 30
Arrows travel through Mobs and Players
(Idea from IareNinja)
Accuracy
Compass enchant
Tier I
Any level
Compass' needle points directly at spawnpoint, no matter how much you move it around. Will point towards portal in the nether (No more getting lost!) Can be earned at any level.
Locator
Compass Enchant
Tiers I , II , III
Level 20+
Compass shows the direction to different things (Not very accurate, but useful)
Tier I - Points at closest chest.
Tier II - Points at closest spawner.
Tier III - Points at closest dungeon or stronghold spawner. (very rare)
Skipping Time (I can't think of a better name)
Clock Enchant
Tier I, II
Around 28-30 levels
Allows you to skip ahead through the day/night cycle. If it's day, you can skip to night and vice-versa. Requires time to recharge, maybe 3 Minecraft days.
Enchanting it would be difficult. It requires a certain amount of levels to get it, but if you don't give it enough levels it cannot give you another enchant because clocks don't have any other enchants.
So basically, if you don't have the levels for it, it will give you nothing.
Luring
Fishing rod Enchant
Tier I, II, III
Any level
Upgrade:
- Visible spikes on armour. If possible.
- Take out armour losing durability from thorns. (idea from gerbilcrab475)
Change: Possible name change? Thorns sounds odd. Spikes, maybe?
Looting
Tool Enchant
Upgrade:
Allow this to be put on Shears and fishing rods through an enchantment table.

More will be added if I think of any, or if anyone thinks of a good idea.
I'm going to try and add as many as I can. The more enchants there are, the more interesting enchanting will be. I want it to be a mystery as to what you are going to get.
Enchantments aren't only available when you put a certain level of enchantments into them, only the tier of the enchantment.
Also this is wishlist.
I know that enchants aren't only available at a certain level. It's an idea.
and what do you mean wishlist? Do you mean it's one of those lists where people just put down loads of ideas? Because it's not one of those. I'm pretty sure it's fine to have multiple ideas so long as they are on the same topic. And they are; New enchants.
I didn't think they were over suggested. well, I guess if people ask for them enough they could be added. Like they did with horses.
Do you happen to have any good ideas? Possibly an original idea? Thanks.
I was saying that enchantments like Swiftness, Leaping, Range, Stun, Luring, and Fire are suggested frequently.
Oh yeah I see what you mean, but I still thought I'd add them. And I was wondering if I could add some of the ideas you have to my topic, with credit of course.
The idea isn't bad - new enchantments would be nice, and some of these are original.
Some of them have been suggested in lots of other places, though - search for it. I don't see why this is a wishlist, either; it's an organized list of enchantments.
When you deal a critical hit, nearby players, pets and golems will be healed from 1 to 5 hearts (depending on level), at the cost of you loosing that amount of health.
Ender Acid
Sword Enchant
Tier I
30 Levels
EXTREMELY rare enchant.
Sword will have a dark purple glow.
When you hit a mob or player, there is a 25% chance they will receive the Ender Acid effect, which looses hearts at a half heart less that Wither II and makes the victims hearts purple.
Also, maybe thorns can be named Dragon Hide/Scale?
Support the idea of new enchantments, although I agree that some of these are oversuggested and overpowered, particularly the boot ones. Imagine that one lucky jerk on a PvP server who gets Diamond Boots with Jump Boost, Double Jump and Feather Falling all max tier. They'd be going 4 blocks in the air with no penalty, and even higher with a Jump Boost II Becaon nearby - they'd get the 1 block jump + 1 for the boost enchant + 2.5 from the beacon and they can do that twice from the double jump, and they have Feather Falling, making them jump 9 blocks into the air with a double jump with minimal damage.
I think this post really shines with the enchantments for other tools, like the Clock and Compass ones. I also really like Range and Luring, although they've been said before.

I like the Enderwarp one.
The sacrifice one is alright, but similar to thorns, there shouldn't be a loss. Losing health in a battle is the last thing you want to do. Although, taking the enemies health is a good idea.
The ender acid one is ok, but it does something pretty similar to poison and wither. I don't see a point in adding another affect.
These ideas are quite good, I will add them to the list

Praise be to Spode.
It degrades armour? Damn that's pretty bad. Lemme add it.
