As we all know, zombie flesh gets really annoying to pick up because it has no use. But, fear no longer, I have come up with an idea for the zombie flesh. Wait for it........ SCARECROWS! It's genius right? Just some sort of combination of wheat, zombie flesh, and pumpkin to make one. Its purpose is to scare away monsters within a small radius so we dont have to keep building fences around our areas. Not exactly sure if a mod for this has already been made before but feel free to take the idea if you are a mod developer.
EDIT: When I say scarecrow, I dont mean a mob like the snow golem. Just a standing figure on a fence or something similar.

So scare away monsters with scarecrows...
Let me repeat it: SCARE AWAY MONSTERS . . . WITH SCARECROWS.
This is very OP. Once you make this scarecrow, you are safe. That would make Minecraft easy. Besides, you can't SCARE zombies anyway. I'd like to build fences in my area instead of some weird looking figure.

Well unless Mojang adds crows, what do you want to call them? Scarezombies? Im not talking about having a very large radius, maybe only 10x10 for keeping monsters out of gardens.

No, that is what you want to call them; a scarecrow, even though crows have yet to exist in minecraft. I wasn't implying the name
'scarezombies' either, so think before posting. It could be for any other hostile mob, which would make them OP. Aren't fences good enough for you?
If Scarecrows were implemented into the game, the only thing that they should do is increase the yield of crops. You'd get additional carrots, potatoes, wheat, so on and so forth...simply because the Scarecrow would be scaring away the birds that Minecraft currently doesn't have when you toss our your seeds...granting you an increased yield.
Mechanic wise, your crops would simply produce X amount more within a specific radius around the Scarecrow...and you could pretend that birds are flying away in sheer terror.
Im getting a lot of responses of the scarecrow being OP. To make it less OP, instead of the pumpkin head it uses monster heads. The monster head you craft it with will only scare that monster. Also, the scarecrow wont keep them away completely, just scare off most of them.
Maybe it should only scare away a mob that you used to make it with. So use zombie flesh to scare away zombies, use bones to scare away skeletons, use spider eyes to scare away spiders, etc.

I like that idea and it could possibly go along with the monster heads.
I like the scarecrow idea, but I'm kind of on the fence about making them with rotten flesh.
I mean, when was the last time that you made a scarecrow, doll or dummy using /actual flesh/? The answer for me is never. And I don't think that a single person, during the middle ages or otherwise, has done so in the past and not been considered mentally unstable.
Maybe a better use for rotten flesh is bait of some kind, or fertilizer?

I think using the Rotten flesh as like a specifier for what kind of monster to scare away would be a nice effect.
Use Flesh for Zombies, Bones for Skeletons, Spider Eyes for Spiders.
Probably wouldn't work against creepers. You have cats for that.
As we all know, zombie flesh gets really annoying to pick up because it has no use. It has a use! Check Wircea's post.

It's OP for me since rotten flesh is a common drop and wheat and pumpkin are very easy to farm, Although it has a small radius It's still OP because since the ingredients are very easy to find (you may say pumpkins are hard to find, it would be easy for you to make more pumpkins once you find one)
There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers what the Universe is for, it will be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.
