Hey. So I got this awesome idea that there should be a minecraft tv. It does not have to be super detailed or any thing. You can craft it, rather simpily too.
CRAFTING:
iron glass iron
iron painting iron
iron glass iron
The TV can be placed anywhere and can be used as a dim light (light is blueish.) Its 2 blocks high and one block wide.
The TV really isent as exciting as a real one, all it does is change pictures of minecraft things like creepers and what not. So its just really to be used for decoration.
If you put a button next to a TV (one block next to it) you can toggle it on and off. When its off its just a black screen.
Theres really not much to say about it, its just simple and harmless decoration.
Thanks for reading. (This is my 1st thread of my own.)
I don't see what's so wrong with the modern minority to get some attention every now and then.
It doesn't work that way. It's not really about "modern minorities getting attention". A TV just doesn't fit Minecraft. Yes, we have redstone mechanisms and jukeboxes, but there are still limits. This is why things like cars and jets aren't in the game.

Hey, you there. Yes, you! Are you thinking about posting a suggestion on the forums anytime soon? If so, please read this before doing so.
It really depends on what you build. If you build ancient castles, not for you. If you build high rising super towers, This would be better than a painting.

A very Smart, Strong and very Annoying one of a kind, Nyanja. If you dont know what that is, please contact my cousin, Nyan cat.
It would add a lot of cool ambience to my builds and maps, and I think it should only turn on with redstone signal. A good addition that goes with this (to explain it) would be a "tv station" in villages, to show you are getting TV from them. As for the images, it sohuld show "episodes", like when an action movie is on, a creeoer might appear on screen, the character would be shown running, then there would swow an explosion, and then a picture of the player getting up, and so on.
Yeah, so if you want totally modern stuff that sticks out of Minecraft's ambience like a sore thumb, install a mod.
Minecraft has an ambience of whatever you build, so building a brick skyscraper of a spaceship might actually fit with TVs. They are not more advanced then:
Daylight detectors
Comparators
Booster Rails
Jukeboxes
Pistons

Yes. Yes I do.

Actually TV is alot more advance then those. Those items have existed IRL for as long as TV. Also "What ever you build" is not an ambience. Minecraft has a bit of a sad, empty, trying to survive, post-apocalyptic theme.

Except that it actually will.
You're right, it wouldn't be bad. It would be downright horrible.
We brew potions and swing swords, so no, a TV doesn't fit in.
The Unofficial Suggestion Guide - Everything you need to know to not make goofy mistakes in a suggestion! Honestly though, you should really go there.
yea.... its just not that type of game... I mean I get where your coming from, but a T.V. would just look weird......

Minecraft has no theme, it's a sandbox game. Actually, I would support cars and lightbulbs.

He changes the paintings textures to televisions, cupboards, drawers, etc.
All of those are made with the magical powder and other items in Minecraft. They aren't electronic in other words.

Wait, its not?!.. Well this new furniture sure makes it seem that way!
