The idea of the daytime is to do thing you can't do normally at night because of the danger- minecraft isn't created to seat at you builded home, cause you can do it and probbobly do it right now...
Adding this danger will make the day a replica of the night, when you have to stay home...
If I want to kill cows and stuff and oh hailstorm or something...
Maybe it can be good stuff to the night, but adding difficulty to the game isn't loved by everyone.
I'm all for options. I would like to see MC with suggestions like the above but with a screen menu with toggles to turn things like that off or on. Dont want Enderman taking blocks and making holes in random trees and gardens, toggle it on or off, don't like being snuck up behind on by a morning creeper toggle them on or off, don't like a hail storm on your head toggle it on or off.
The winning formula as shown by the many mods about is choice and control = WIN! There are many people that like to play MC in many different play styles. Happy digging!

I just carve out a basement, spawn two villagers, and role-play a 32 year old man living with his parents.
Seriously though, I was thinking that damage from lightning should be upped from 1 heart, I mean it's LIGHTNING!!! You try to not die when you're hit with a bolt!
Otherwise, all that would be needed is a weather overhaul. Tornadoes, Hail Storms, heck throw in some meteor showers and sandstorms for the desert!

What if after you get a bed? (very easy) Or just use the /time set 0 command? Don't you feel bored?
On room built for sleep, one room for crafting, one for smelting, one for potion brewing, one for storage, maybe even make it automated...so on and so forth.
Your ideas could use some work, there are others out there with much better ideas (sandstorms, snowstorms, ect.). They do have use in the game for atmosphere, but no, you don't need "more reasons to stay inside".

Don't use commands. They're called "cheats" for a reason, you realize.
Yah, i've seen the sandstorm post. It would be much harder to implement then this. The point of simplistic ideas is so they can ACTUALLY GET into the game sometime soon.
And if you read my post you would see that i built a five story house with all those such rooms.
And i never use them anyway. I just know they exist and know that many people use them.
What is it with people wanting to make Minecraft harder? I don't get it.
This idea sounds a little silly, wouldn't really make sense since they'd have to be REALLY big hail stones to damage you to the point of death.
Why does it have to be realistic?
Plus the hordes could be considered "hostile" and would only spawn out of peaceful.
I love this idea! I never really thought about it, but it's true that there is absolutely no reason to stay indoors during the day. This would give a good reason to build a shelter and would add an interesting challenge to the game. How about as an additional feature, you can get ill from being out in the rain for too long? Maybe while being ill your hunger depletes more rapidly and you move and break blocks more slowly until you heal.

Awful idea. I don't want to be forced to go inside, interrupting my building, just to wait out a hailstorm. If I have something that needs to be done inside, I'll be spending time inside anyway. If I don't, then I'll just be afking until I can build again.
Hostile mobs are a much better reason to have a house already.
why on earth should there be any reason to stay inside during the day? It isn't as if it's neccessary. Plus, daytime is the only relatively safe time to harvest and explore. There is no reason why mojang should add some things in to Force you to stay in during the day. It should be just as much choice as it is during the night, probably more. Daytime is supposed to be the bright and happy relief to the dangers of the night.

Free + Crabs + Ability to trample/suffocate opponents in Cortex Command = Free Bombs.
I disagree with the whole, "day time is the time to be all safe and stuff". We already have dangers. I got killed off by a creeper in the middle of the day! There are plenty of dangers: Drowning, getting assaulted by skeletons that took cover in the water: Admit it, day isn't THAT care free.
So maybe Locusts stink, but what is wrong with a damaging weather? as it is being out in the rain for a whole day (in this case minecraft day) should at least do something to you.
And in case you are wondering- Hailstorms would only damage you.

Unless hail does damage to blocks, I support.

[quote=Badgerz]You have to keep in mind that people are stupid.
[quote=Catelite]Just because you don't understand how something works, doesn't make it broken or pointless. >_<

That would be too close to reality for many players...
Yes, but an earthquake or hurricane would be difficult to implement into vanilla minecraft

Locusts would be cool though.
I like that idea!
Thanks. Hailstorms were my original idea but when i thought of Locusts i though it would be interesting to put that out too.
