Basically it'd be a large weapon thing you put on your walls, for style and functionality...
Basically this is what a ballista is, and it varies in shape and size. It would work kind of like a large bow you can't move around, but could turn to point in a specific direction. You would load it would individual shots, which would made of... Well I guess 2 shafts and a metal or rock at the top, something like that. You load it, it winches, you fire it. It does large amounts of damage when it hits a target. I think it would be pretty cool.
It would also be really awesome if in place of a rock or metal tip you could put one of those dynamite blocks, and when it collides with the ground it explodes in the same fashion.
Well, this has been suggested before but kudos for the excellent picture. Now, I believe you meant to say CANNOT MOVE AROUND in it, give the weapon a pintle mount and I'm game. Also, explosive rounds would be in the realm of the catapult.
Though this is what I imagine an In game ballista being like...
Whoops, sorry. Pretty tired. Yea, as long as it fires large projectiles I'm cool with it. Would be a fun way to pass time at night if I'm not mining or something.

They asked me how well I understood theoretical physics. I told them I had a theoretical degree in physics. They said welcome aboard.
