So me and my friends wanted to have this epic battle, but then we found out enchantment levels with /enchant were limited to 5. That pretty much ruined the battle. basically, if the levels for the command weren't limited, you could (if you are opped) charge into battle with sharpness 1000000000000000000000000000 sword and protection 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000 armor or whatever. of course, it would only be fun if your opponents had this too. for any critics, its a Command.
/enchant levels through commands? Yeah, limited to V. Enchantment levels through NBT tags? I believe it's about level X or so.
Besides, sharpness five is about 7.5 extra hearts of extra damage along with the normal sword damage. That's enough for an "Epic" battle damage values.
And anyways, you can't just have some "epic" battle through /give and /enchant commands by giving everyone diamond armor and enchanted swords, you need more stuff; potion effects, obstacles, power-ups, that sort of thing. Otherwise it's just overpowered people whacking each other.

How about up to level 10 or 15, not 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000. I don't want someone sneaking up to me on a server who has Knockback of that level and hitting me with it.
Though, if you wish to have high-level enchantments, I suggest getting MCEdit and using the Enchant filter. I used Unbreaking 100 to make the armor unbreakable (cause the Filldispensers filter doesn't allow you to have super-high durability anymore).
There is no reason for unlimited enchantment levels. While performing an epic battle, enchantment levels are only useful when the opponent has lower-level enchantments. If both players have a Sharpness X diamond sword and a Protection X set of diamond armor, these enchantments effectively cancel out, causing both players to become equal to one another.

Yes, but with higher enchantments on armor, It takes more hits to defeat your opponent.

The problem with that is that Minecraft will become too easy. Even on Hardcore mode people would just spawn the items they want and literally breeze through it. Corrupt ops on servers would be overpowered to the point it wouldn't even be funny. There is no real purpose to have an enchantment level that high either. Its not "epic" to one hit kill everything you fight I doubt the bosses could even take it.
But to each their own. In all reality I have no right to think I can dictate how other people play Minecraft.
You're still not getting it... they're saying if both the swords and armor are a super high level, it's pointless, as they would just cancel each other out. It wouldn't be longer, it would would be the same.
I think he means for things like classes like he has a flint and steel with fire aspect, and armor fire resistance, and a sword with op enchants with armor op enchants.
I hear that Mojang(Jeb, not Notch) are starting to bring players back to vanilla. They are giving the general idea of good mods or programs like MCedit filters. Like adding anvils. One day we may get this. Anything is possible now that Jeb is here.

wel i was acually going to make a mini game called unleash the beast skyrim edition so its simple one of the guys wepons is a fus ro dah stick with extreme knockback so they would fly out of the map so the mission of the game is to find the secret stash in one of the maps and destroy the fus ro dah user

noob! you can only use the command to lvl. 9999! If higher, it'll be minus for the sharpness id:16! here is one of the things i did.Only for snapshot. Change the diamond_sword to the diamond sword id and yes, change the id:19 and the others. /give @p minecraft:diamond_sword 1 0 {ench:[{id:19,lvl:9999},{id:20,lvl:9999},{id:21,lvl:9999}]}

I've never used /enchant, but I would imagine it would have a high level limit such as this one.
