Level II potions have a wider range but a very short duration (turning it to lingering shortens it alot, turning it to splash shortens it all the more)
Regular potions have the base range and duration (yes, it is only going to last shortly)
Extended potions have the lower range and longer duration (though still short to avoid overpowered lingering)
So I'm still not entirely clear ... you would add Lapis to a Splash Potion, and then when you throw that potion, it would leave a cloud that would give anything that walked into it that effect? If so, I think this is a brilliant idea.
This is a great idea! Beacons are limited in their uses (Not to mention bulky), and the concept of a lingering poison cloud is just too enticing for me to say no.
this is a truly amazing idea. you have my full support.

Sam- I left this here because I know you like MC and hope you are on this forum. this is alex, from gym and geography class. the kid with long hair and glasses. make an account and msg me if you see this.
Full support, dude.
Lapis needs a use that isn't purely decorational, and this may be the way to do it.
Also, I enjoy the idea of the clud that forms. Map makers could use this to make colored fog, an idea I rather like.

My avatar-Madison Gotha. She knows various weapons, she's a mage/sage, and is somewhat immortal. Madison has the capability of taming and communicating monsters, a genetic trait passed down by her father. 26 physically, 1400-something mentally, and a Lofty Peakian/Zenithian mix. Doesn't really like being called an elf and hates being called human..
I might be Moderator, but don't bother treating me too special. And don't make tons of Ban Hammer jokes, please. Also, I'm an Off-Topic only Mod. Don't ask me to lock a thread or something if it's not in the off-topic

Dunno if it would be colored fog... Thinking it's going to be more like bigger, lingering potion particles.
And to clear up some unknowns, the lingering effect could be added to splash potions to make them explode into a cloud of whatever potion you made when they are thrown. The lingering effect could also be added to drinkable-only potions to form a cloud around that particular player that follows them wherever they go.
And i love the idea of level II potions causing a larger cloud, and lasting a shorter amount of time. Also with level I potions lasting slightly longer, but with a smaller cloud. I believe it was Rex who came up with that
Yeah, this would be an awesome feature. I'm thinking lapis to get the tier one cloud, and then brewing glowstone into the tier one would make it tier two, have larger radius but not last as long.
There was already a idea that made potions with lapis lazuli stackable-like thick potions -.- if you found another material for it, upvote.
Wasn't aware, but i'm sure if the mojang team wished to make potions stackable they would simply do it without needing another ingredient as they have done to food, buckets and the like.
Heal pools and poison gas chambers, the possibilities are endless. Time to Support.
Maybe three different types of gas, then?
Regular puffs up into a fog and stops.
Powered up expands continuously over it's duration(Not through walls; It would just expand and flow in all directions.) Thus, poison chambers.
Extended stays together and flows towards lower elevations like a liquid slime. Thus, pools of poison/ healing/ what have you.

Thats the one.Well thought out, and a good addition. Total support
