If some of you people (not all of you) are just going to sit there and give me negative criticism, then get your butts out of here. This is for people who DO want animals. If I get more negative criticism, I'm going to have to close this topic with mod's permission.

1. Negative criticism is the entire point of criticism. If I was doing something important, I'd much rather get all negative criticism than all positive criticism, assuming all criticism was honest.
2. This suggestion is so vague and redundant that a moderator would probably close this thread regardless of whether you wanted it open or not, because that is their job.
If I get more negative criticism, I'm going to have to close this topic with mod's permission.
Oh wow, that's a very good way to give trolls the upper hand. Negative criticism is a non-negotiable thing on these forums that can not be avoided.
As for the suggestion, I support. More or less. Although I think adding more animals is something that should be done very carefully, and not just for the sake of adding more mobs and nothing more. It's also something that needs to be monitored in terms of some areas being painfully overcrowded with some animals (which can happen in the game already, but could be made worse if not careful), and in terms of bringing a form of originality to the game and not just copy and pasting mobs left and right but giving them a different model.
P.S.: No, we don't "need" more animals. We can survive and get by in the game fine with or without them...

Well a few more animals added would be nice though
About the "realistic squid" part, this is Minecraft, we don't have to be that realistic.
We could use more animals, we don't NEED them. I'm not hating on your idea, but details PLEASE.
The thing is,many people have suggested more animals and know people want more animals.
How about larger cats that go out of there way to hunt creepers? Add to the lore of why creepers are afraid of cats to begin with?
These would be untameable, and may attack the player if provoked.
How about deer and squirrels.
Deer for venison meat, and squirrels, well, because they are both cute and annoying. And they can climb trees, and go through the leaves.
Behaviour of deer > They run like Ocelots when the player approaches.
Squirrels > Useless like the bat for now.
I think I recall seeing horses as a planned addition, but will be nice to see in game.
Monkey's in the jungle biomes wouldn't be a bad idea, maybe potentially funny. Could set the stage for adding banana's to the game, which could also be used to breed monkey's.
Mammoths could be added at some point as well, dropped loot could be ivory for use with future crafting possibilities. Oh, and the mammoth's would fight back when attacked. Similar damage to golems.
Explaining something that is dead obvious = uncalled for reading. We all know MC animals are like cardboard; Bland. Everyone on forums are the people a special eds class teacher hates. Everyone is looking for a tiny flaw to point out. WTSF more do you want from these posters? They aren't reading your mind, they can't think of everything.
Then I don't see it either. I guess spec ed teachers hate me.

I would love it if you checked out my "about me" page on my profile and looked at my threads I'm always happy to see new posters.
The problem with this idea is that you aren't giving reasons WHY any of these should be added. Sure you can throw a catch all term like "Ambiance" at us but throwing a ton of mobs in the game for the sake of having more mobs is not the right path to be taking. I know we have the bat which drops nothing and is strictly there for Ambiance. But bats are rare, bats are weak, and bats are small. That is what makes them a good ambient mob. You listed 66 different potential mobs, and if they added 10% of them it would still be 6 new mobs with no use. That is just too many.
A good way to think about why a mob should be added is thinking about a block, item, or feature/mechanic you would like to see, and then thinking of a way to make a mob incorporate it. After you make the mob that makes your idea possible, you do balancing work to make sure it is fair and fun. Essentially, you build the mob around a feature, rather than suggesting a mob with no specifics just because you feel like the game needs more animals.

Sorry kid, this is the internet.
You can't "threaten" people to like your idea, you have to bend your ideas yourself to appeal to them.
(And be careful not to go rage-crazy and start flaming to every single negative criticism)
The thing that I absolutely hate about this idea is that the mobs have no purpose.
They're just there, and they do nothing, they serve as nothing, they're used for nothing.
Pick a couple from your giant list of animals, and expand on them in detail.
I know. I'm still thinking on what stats and behaviors they could do.
Ambience is, to me, for the small animals. I'll make a poll too soon.
For the items, would lobster traps and lobsters be considered what you are saying, Badprenup?
That's a perfect example. Making a Lobster trap, placing it underwater in ocean biomes, and then every lobster that goes in damages the trap by X% when you go to harvest them. And I agree, ambiance is suited for little things like frogs (awful lot of lily pads with no frogs out there) and Butterflies.

I'm not saying I would kill someone if they didn't like my idea, you know.
It's not because there are mods for it that animal suggestions get hated on, it's the general redundancy of most, a lack of detail in others, and generally a lack of reason for the rest.
What I mean is, yes, aesthetic mobs are nice. Is there a flat out use for them? Not specifically, no. Are they unique in terms of a suggestion? Not for the most part. Or, yeah, sharks would be cool. Is there a use for them? Maybe, sort of. Are they unique, however? No, far from it; sharks are one of the most cliché "evil" mobs that have ever popped into the community's heads, because we've all seen Jaws and now every time we hear the word "shark" we start thinking with the .
Your thread fails all three criteria, unfortunately, that's why people are giving criticism. You have rather redundant mobs, all of which have been suggested before at least once I believe, in a long list with zero detail because "we should know what they look like and what they do", that are all mobs that exist in the real world with no kind of element of fantasy or power behind them, and finally, like Badprenup said, you provide no real reason to have them in the first place. Yeah, we could have birds, or we could not consume tons of computer resources animating tiny square pigeons and use loops or something. We could have butterflies and frogs, or we could not waste time rendering 2x2 pixel big moths and make a kind of butterfly/firefly "mob block" that animates/displays little whateverflies buzzing on it. We could have hawks...but...why?
I'm not saying I would kill someone if they didn't like my idea, you know.
I know that.
I'm just saying, listing a whole bunch of animals you can think of is one thing.
Picking a few, expanding on them and adding detail is another.
The lobster trap thing is a great start!
Now try doing that same thing with a couple other animals, and it'll make your thread much better.
Pigeons: Tameable with seeds. Spawn in any biome except for Taiga biomes. Form in large flocks of 5-20. 1 heart of health.
Bird Perch: Along with pigeons (and other unmentioned birds), maybe you can place the pigeons on a perch if you want to have them stay. They can be made of 5 wood or wooden planks in a T-shape in the crafting table.

Yeah, a few more, but I don't want to be crowded with loads of low-detail animals. When one is added, I want it to be detailed.
