LAPIS LAZULI LAMP
The lapis lazuli lamp is a block that gives off light (obviously). At daytime, the lamp will remain off, but at night, it will turn on, emitting a light level of 15 (bright as glowstone). It turns on and off automatically. It is a useful block, and can be used in towns to keep the monsters away, without having to switch on all redstone lamps one by one, or use up chests full of redstone and go SethBling style. When the lapis lazuli lamp is powered by redstone, the lamp will turn on and stay on, for decoration purposes. The lamp is crafted with a lapis block in the middle, with two columns of glowstone dust on each side. Above the lapis block is a clock (for the day/night switching), and below it is a redstone dust. It will give two lapis lazuli lamps, so the recipie is not too expensive.
Here are some pics I made. (They aren't the best, will change in the future.)
Not a bad idea. Seems a little pointless but then again there are a lot of pointless things in Minecraft. That's what gives a little charm to it.

I dislike this. In the light it is off and in the dark it is on. So is everything else that emits light. Not useful at all because of this, it's redundant if anything.
The lapis lazuli lamp is a block that gives off light. At daytime, the lamp will be off, but at night, it will turn on, emitting a light level of 15. It does it automatically Dude...just wire...Automatic without effort does not fit Minecraft. It is a useful block, and can be used in towns to keep the monsters away, without having to switch on all lamps Just leave it on. When it is powered by redstone, the lamp will turn on and stay on, for decoration purposes. The lapis lazuli lamp is crafted with a glowstone block, surrounded by eight lapis All the more it doesnt make sense how it turns on without any redstone powering it. Here are some pics.
How about the oppsite?
One lapis block, surrounded by glowstone dust?
It makes more sense to me, because the texture looks like a lapis block.
This seems reasonable. After all, these blocks should be expensive in the first place, since they are fully automatic. I will change the recipie later.

Lapis needs something else to make me mine for it. After all, there's one a few reasons to make Blue wool :/
