They are cool ideas, but Minecraft doesn't currently have any enchantments like the ones you've listed for those swords! I would consider them for the mod, but I've chosen 7 already!
Thanks for the input and imagination!

Now whether or not you'll read this or not is one question, but oh well.
What happens if you combined a iron sword with a diamond sword?
what could happen is you put your iron sword in the anvil slot one (the slot on the left) and a diamond sword in slot two (the slot on the right) and you get a iron sword with the damage/uses of a diamond sword.
so for those who want their sword to have an iron blade but do the same damage as a diamond sword can have that. so people can have their black hilt with silver gems and a silver blade, for the purpose of looks.
the same could happen for a axe mixed with a sword except it transforms it into a tomahawk (it would look different when combined) which would be able to accept a colored hilt and gems
maybe a pick can be turned into a double sided battle axe? a hoe into a scythe? a shovel into a mace?
it would not only add new weapons without adding new items (it would only look different in your inventory but also in your hand)
why cant we color our blades? lets say i want to make a bone sword? i would give a white dye to the hilt, blade, and then some redstone as gems (as blood) or let say i want a scythe with a brow hilt black blade and white gems?
more customization, the better. the weapon idea will solve everybody's problem with wanting an axe for their Abe Lincoln skin, or wanting a tactical all black tomahawk.
for the bows, the grip would be colored one color and the wood another and gems inserted where the string attaches to the wood
with the current anvil interface, how would it work?
their would be your current sword standing straight up, above the two boxes would be your weapon faced upwards, next to that would be a slot near the blade a slot near the hilt and another slot. each designated to customize your current sword
First off, I try to read everyone's posts, so don't worry about that! I check at least once a day to see if anyone has feedback to give me!
This whole post seems to be on a mod type addition. This thread is still considered a vanilla suggestion, even though a mod is being made.
The bit on "iron-diamond" blades: This would be extremely misleading, plus it would involve double the amount of code and sprite images, to make something that doesn't exactly make sense.
The bit about all these extra weapons: To start off, this is already a mod: http://www.minecraft...0#entry18209803
Secondly, once again, to add inset and dye customization to all those new items would take a couple months of coding and image editing, for a cause that altogether doesn't seem worth it, because an addition of a new weapon is enough in and of itself.
The bit about coloring blades: This is how the idea began, but people simply did not like the idea of dying metal (or diamond in this case). The only other way to make that work would be the ability to have multicolored diamonds or something. If someone wants to provide a detailed solution to this, go ahead, and I will look at it. However, this would multiply the coding by 16, and give a possibility of 2816 customized swords. See what a big effect a small change has?
The bit on advanced bows: I have posted on this topic, although it hasn't gotten all that much love from me because I haven't had the time, with the mod development lately. Here's the link: http://www.minecraft...multiple-woods/
I talked a lot about the code, and I know it isn't nearly as much as some other mods out there, but what I'm saying is, why go through all that work when it might not be completely worth it?
Thanks for reading, I should be updating the post shortly to keep everyone on track with mod development!

while i was going through the final touches i noticed we had like 200 items in the combat tab so i decided i should make my own creative tab.

I realize there is probably a mod for this, there is a mod for everything from what ive seen.
scratch the mixed sword with sword idea. just color the blade silver, or gold.
how it COULD work:
1. if you've seen some knives they sometime have a black coating, it is possible to use different colors though. now that works for metal not diamond, but then again have you ever seen a diamond sword in real life?
2. the second alternative, the more complicated but sensible for a diamond sword, just add more gems and have work like the dyes.
IF colored blades were to be a easy addition (IF) what are your thoughts on the subject?
and IF your currently listed suggestion were to be added, would you consider weapon skins? (you would put your sword in slot one and a shovel/pick/hoe/axe in slot two and it would skin the sword) any thoughts on the new mechanics? If it helps try think of it (because your using an anvil) as changing the blade material.

Personally, I love the idea of colored blades. As you said, the most sensible solution to this is different colored gems, I can see dying different gems working quite well to craft multicolored sword blades. Perhaps it'll be in the mod later in its life, we'll see!
Weapon skins? Is that another way of saying, an axe with a sword makes a battle-axe?

This DEFINATLY NEEDS to be part of the game. Maybe even do sumthing where u can add things like different hilts or blade types. but we especially need the option to change blade/hilt colors with so thers more vareity and more personal flavor added to skins. Also if mojang uses this idea the need to add more flare to enchanted weapons anyone hear agree? like fire enchanted swords need to look like fire or glow red not purple. dont make me you

Very nice idea! I love the amount of effort you put into this, how you listened to the player's feedback and comprimised with them, and how you weren't all "BUT THIS IS MYYYYY PROJECT AND EVERYTHING I SAID IS PERFECT AND IT HAS TO BE ADDED BLAHBLAHBLAH!!!" like some people are. I fully support this. Good luck to you, sir! Have some fire to keep you warm while you work on this.

Great! I'm also glad others agree that this would be good for armor! I have been thinking about posting on it, and I might very soon!

personally i would prefer a tomahawk and the pick turning it into a double sided battle axe.
Here's a list of the skins:
Sword + Axe = Tomahawk
Sword + Pick = Battle axe
Sword + Hoe = Scythe
Sword + Shovel = Mace
It would make your weapon just look different, for customization purposes
Kind of a cool idea, but i don't think it fits with this one exactly.. maybe make it into a mod suggestion!
