So I want to make indestructible piston doors with bedrock and sticky pistons. The only thing that ticks me off is that pistons can't push obsidian and bedrock. When I try to test sticky piston, it won't pull bedrock. Instead it just retract back without pulling the bedrock block.
With pistons being able to push obsidian and bedrock, it would make construction of bedrock house possible in survival.
I would love the idea of pistons being able to push bedrock.
1. Could you stick with a non-cursive text? This is a bit hard to read
2. This inability to push obsidian and bedrock is intentional, and should never change. It would create a griefer paradise, where no one is safe. Bedrock has to remain immobile and unaffected by the environment.
I'm sorry, but this is a horrible idea.

If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 99% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 1% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.
No I will not +1 you unless you say something worth +1ing. Respect is earned, not given.
I totally agree with the guy above,
1- I had to zoom in on the cursive, it's just to small.
2- Bedrock is not supposed to be moved or used in any way in survival. It is suppose to be used to make sure players don't fall into the void and also by servers to make griefing proof walls, buildings, etc.
3- obsidian is a special block because it can't be blown up or moved my pistons. It is used to prevent piston machines from over pushing blocks and changing it will not happen.

There are actually several blocks that can not be pushed by obsidian. Obsidian not being affected by pistons was actually an anti-griefing feature.

Obsidian is used as a stop for pistons to keep them from pushing other blocks, and if it pushed bedrock, you could get into the void.

Can't you just use the normal font? Also if you could push bedrock , you could potentially create a hole in the world. Furthermore , having two blocks that isn't possible to be pushed by pistons is helpful for elevators and whatnot , rather than just spamming entity objects like Furnaces or Chests.
Also , why would you want a bedrock house, wouldn't obsidian suffice? Also , I can't really see the positive advantages to this, all that comes to mind for me is just more griefing.

Those that don't search are scum , those that know the topic has been suggested , but still suggest them , are worse than scum.
In addition to what has been said by everyone else...
What would stop people from destorying the pistons or redstone wiring? Even if pistons could manipulate obsidian and/or bedrock, you still wouldn't have an indestructable piston door.
As bedrock is supposed to be the indestructible and unmovable block of all blocks. But I like the suggestion that the piston should push only the obsidian since obsidian should be moved as it is movable unlike bedrock.
No support. And I'm only going to re-state what has been said before me, but screw it.
We needs obsidian as our block that cannot attach to slime blocks. It's been hinted at that tile entities (furnaces, dispensers, droppers, etc.) will be movable by piston technology in the future, so obsidian will be the last resort. And moving bedrock with pistons seems pretty overpowered.
This is a three year old topic. Why do people keep posting in topics that are multiple years old just to say they don't support it? Does anyone here actually pay attention to the dates on posts?
because you can trap people in a box made of unbreakable material and they will never be able to get out until YOU let them out.
And that's the worst thing you can do to anything ever.
You can already do this with stone and pistons, if you can capture the person without a pick. That's one of the reasons the /kill command exists. Also, multiplayer servers have moderators who can ban people that do stuff like that, and if you're just playing with friends and one of them traps you for an extended period of time, I think it might be time to re-think who you call friend or at least who you play Minecraft with.
In general, I think you can't use the possibility of griefing as opposition to an idea, because the game is already filled with ways to grief, and servers use plugins to prevent it or (in rarer cases) moderators to encourage friendly play.
I'd say no to moving bedrock with pistons for two reasons:
1.) Bedrock is supposed to be unmovable in survival. If you intend to break or move it, you may as well just go to creative mode because that is considered cheating. All existing methods of breaking bedrock in survival are exploits and the development team plans to remove them at the first chance they get.
2.) It accomplishes nothing. Say you build a house with bedrock by using pistons to move it. What's to stop your opponent from using pistons to break into your house? All it will do is delay them or possibly make it more trouble than it's worth, and you can use obsidian for that already.
I'd say no to moving obsidian because it actually makes better house armor when it can't be moved with pistons. I'm rooting for home defense, here.

If pistons could push Obsidian, Elevators would be ruined!
If pistons could push Bedrock, griefers could make Void traps/break out of Bedrock jails.

i half-agree i think obcidian should be able to be moved, but not bedrock...bedrock is there for a reason
