So we have had the glass block since classic. The texture hasn't been changed since then. Right now glass looks ugly, old, and just like a classic element. So now I introduce, the new glass block!
Here it is, the glass block and plane!
These newer blocks will let in all the light that passes through them. They are also clearer, allowing better sight through windows!
Here is the new texture mixed with the old one.
And here is the block with other blocks.
So what do you think? I know this has been suggested before, but I hope this is enough to keep in unlocked. If not I will add more and try to get it unlocked again.
Thank you for reading, and +1 if you agree!
Lined glass from the games standpoint makes sense. It was made in a cobblestone furnace with some coal, after all.
In spite of that I dislike using glass in my houses because of the ugly lines running through them. They get in the way of the view in 100% of houses I make. (I don't build anywhere that doesn't have at least a decent view.)
I like this texture, the current lines are so ugly... I think semi-transparent pixels on glass would make too much lag on slow computers or when you have a lot of glass.
I am not a fan of your texture idea, as it is kind of plain. Maybe the current glass, but with semi-transparency (not on the outline). Also, if you want REALLY ugly glass, you should see the original glass texture. I don't know if it was even released. Sorry, just think that the idea you are showing is really plain.
A new glass texture would be pretty good, the current one actually impairs your vision when looking out from right against it. I'd say either make a new texture that has the centre of the block completely clear or making the lines on the current glass texture transparent from close up.
I think there was something in the OP about letting all light pass through the glass, I don't think that would be a very good addition because it would make it possible to have 20 block thick layers of glass and have no light level change. Glass should still have a slight reduction in light that passes through it. Unless of course the sentence I am referring to was only about the transparency of the glass and not about the effect glass has on light.

Glass currently lets all the light pass through it, you can have 126 layers of glass and it lets light pass unaffected.
I made the glass edges 50% transparant when I made the texture, but Minecraft turned those for some reason to all solid, and the inside 100% transparant.
I think they should keep the lines, just make them 50% transparent.
This.
Personally, if you just delete the simulated glare, it doesn't look very good; this texture makes the glass look cracked. Filling in the lines at the edges would make it look better.

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?
I support this. I usually use Sphax 64, but whenever I find myself using default, the glass texture just drives me insane. I usually open it up with Gimp and fix it myself. Anyways, +1 to you, my good man.

I didnt make it invisible, but Minecraft changes the edges not transparant, and the inside completely transparant. I didnt mean go do that.
I know. Every texture pack does it, why not vannilla?

So because of that reason, I support your idea!

Reason? No need to just give hate.
Nah, look at this: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/500948-posting-there-is-a-mod-for-that-is-a-warnable-offence/
Good idea. Wanna see creepers out of your window?
