Actually, my argument doesn't rely on that example, any kind of description text except for generic "tame 5 dogs" (which brings along it's own set of problems) would cause the same issues.
A few things, "tame 5 dogs" is basically the same as "catch 3 wolves" except dogs don't exist in Minecraft. Secondly, not all quests need to be "tame x amount of dogs," in fact, there doesn't even need to be a quest like that. Thirdly, your previous post was all about the example I gave so don't try to say it wasn't by using a similar example that you made up (that's basically the exact same thing.)
Also, I don't understand why people should care if the quests they see are similar to (or the same as) quests that they've seen in the past, as long as they are being rewarded. Not to mention how narrow minded you must be to think that all quests would be the exact same thing or even similar.
People also don't understand that just because Role Playing Games (RPGs) feature quests it doesn't mean that Minecraft would automatically be an RPG just because it had quests. RPGs also have some sort of a storyline, Minecraft, does not.
Looking back on this thread, someone already made a post that supported my final statement:
You know, because quests are exclusive to RPGs, it's not like most other open world sandboxes have some form of quest system, in fact, it's not like Minecraft doesn't already have a very simplistic quest system (NPC trades). Quests aren't an RPG exclusive thing, they're found in almost every genre, including sandboxes.
Sounds cool. What about quests more like "Zombies have been attacking us. We are defenseless. Please find the zombie kingdom and slay their king." and "Thank you, <playername>! You have saved our village!"

The Minecraft forum can be described as "a bunch of crazy people disagreeing with each other"
How is it possible to get bored of Minecraft?
I don't really think this would fit with the rest. If needed, there are probably quest lists which you can find on the internet, just do it then cheat in the items. Or get HQM. I don't think this has a place in Vanilla though.

Also take a look at this guide if you are requesting builders for a server/project.
Please note, if I deny a suggestion because it is already possible, then I mean it is already possible withing 10 command blocks (That do not spawn other command blocks) or up to 5 creations (Command blocks that spawn other command blocks) to make your suggestion.
If I critique your suggestion I am not hating on you. Learn the difference.
I don't like that the villagers have to speak through text. They are only supposed to make grunting noises. Villagers can already trade with us, that's the same thing as some of these quests.
Good idea i would support but you would have to becareful where it came to giving quests like kill 10 pigs in the area as the area may not have any pigs or you may have killed them at an earlier date without realising their was a quest relating to it.
Oh yeah, lets turn mine craft into a RPG like Diablo. That's goo idea. How about we add skill trees, forced MMO, forced player classes, randomized loot enchantments, and a forced monthly subscription fee while we're at it. That's what we need. The best way to improve a *sandbox game* is to turn it into a genre that is almost diametrically opposed.
I give support for this. Non-vanilla! What do people know? (I actually had this exact idea a few days ago) It would make villagers seem more like human(isn) beings instead of walking vending machines.
"I would really love to see quests implemented into Minecraft."
I think it'll add more "level" to the game... Will definitely make people want to play more consecutively.
if anyone wanted to know what that says well... that's it
also I support, I will definitely put the banner in my sig if there is enough room.
