Hi guys! With Minecraft 1.3 coming out in about a week and the ability to farm cocoa beans I think adding chocolate cake would be a perfect to food source to add. You could keep the same cake recipe but replace the milk buckets with chocolate milk buckets which you could get by mixing milk buckets with cocoa beans. The chocolate cake could then restore double the hunger per slice! Anyone else like this idea?
Look at the cute baby mooshroom in my sig... you are getting very sleepy... COCOA BEANS ARE SWEET, says the baby mooshroom in sign language with his adorable face.. HA! I DARE ANYONE TO DISAGREE WITH A BABY MOOSHROOM!
Ok... sorry. Cocoa beans are not sweet... but I don't think a cake needs 3 buckets of milk, so im just following minecraft logic. also, see any sugar in cookies? no, says notch. that's ridiculous! sugar is for cake and brewing!

If you melt the cocoa beans down to chocolate then they're sweet, and having to cook cocoa beans would just make it not as useful as a sustainable food supply (minecraft logic).
Eh, the idea is okay. It'd be nice to have it I guess.
Also....I don't like it when people say something is against 'the feel of minecraft.' If you look back people complained about villages, and enchanting, saying it is against 'the feel.' Well, now, they are part of minecraft, and if the feel changed, so be it. Minecraft is still changing and updating, and the feel is too. So why not chocolate milk?
Another way to craft it if you don't want to add chocolate milk is to surround the regular cake with cocoa beans.
That's a good idea for the crafting recipie. I like it. Chocolate cake shouldn't heal twice as much though. I might be wrong but I think vanilla is healthier than chocolate so it should fill you up half as much as vanilla cake.

Well then why add the cocoa? At least half as much it should feed.

You ever have dark chocolate before?
Ever wonder why it tastes to bitter?
Because that's what cocoa tastes like when you don't put sugar and milk in it.
I agree with spiderraptor, chocolate milk just doesn't fit the vanilla Minecraft atmosphere. I think the chocolate cake suggestion is actually pretty good, despite the fact that it's been suggested way too much and there are numerous mods that incorporate it into Minecraft.
But then it wouldn't be sweet.
how does it not fit?
Well, what sweets are currently in minecraft? simple, cookies and cake. Minecraft Is obviously not a candyland, it's a world of survival. not baking.
cocoa beans are sweet...
1. With cocoa beans being farmable i think some more uses would be good.
2. Why do you think they put sugar in chocolate bars?
For 1: yes, i agree.
For 2: becuase chocolate flavor and sugar tastes better and is cheaper to make than actual cocoa beans...

A recipe like this.
That is alot of chocolate! I assume we'll need cocoa bean-hungry considering how fast it grows :|
