I've heard a lot of quarrels about slimes and things spawning on superflat worlds, so I've come up with a solution!
A slider ranging from 1 block thick (only a layer of grass above bedrock) to 256 blocks thick. In worlds thicker than 6 blocks, the top 5 layers will be dirt and the rest stone. Any questions?
beyond brilliant, bravo to you! the idea is so simple but honestly perfect as I always find that I don't have any room to build underground or that a new invention I am trying to test is being mobbed by the plumpest of slimes.

Support, horizontal bar with numeric entry would be a plus though.
How many times do I have to post this in a superflat thread. You make your own thickness. Superflat only has one purpose, creative mode. If you're looking for a survival experience in superflat then you're playing the game wrong.
I don't think you read the post right. The point of a thickness slider is for the player to have room to tailor the world to the build they have in mind. Say you're building a city or something that lights itself every night with lamps. You'd need the thickness to be thin enough so the buildings fit, but tick enough so the wiring for the lights fit and void fog doesn't appear when you go into the buildings. You'd simply adjust the slider to twenty blocks thick or so and you're good to go.

There should also be an option to have caves and along with that structures should also generate.
But I also included the idea for an option of changing what the superflat world is made out of. ( e.g. water, snow, but not TNT )
Ooh, that's a good idea! How would the player control which layers are made of what without it getting too complex, though?

The currently superflat words are too thin to do underground wiring, etc.
Strongly support.
