I know this has probably been suggested already but they really need to do this to minecraft. Any one who plays on a flat world probably just want to build things and nothing else. And with all of the animals in the world just gets in the way of building, and because it is creative mode having animals is just pointless. It is even worse when you switch to a harder difficulty and a thousand ****ing slime appear. Slime are the worse mob because if you want to get rid of them to build something you have to hit the them like twenty time because they just split into two. I know that you can just play on peaceful to not have slimes everywhere, but sometimes I build or create stuff that involves monsters but then the slimes just get in the way. So please take away mobs from the flat world because if you wanted mobs you could just spawn them with the mob spawn eggs. Please reply and tell me your thoughts!!!
You can go on Peaceful which will disable hostile mobs, then just kill all the animals in your building space. Without breeding, animals don't spawn often at all anymore so it should be enough. That's all I can say. And the slime on peaceful bug was fixed quite awhile ago.

Yeah I know but the animals just get annoying when you have to kill them. But when you are building some sort of thing that involves hostile mobs on easy or hard the slime are just everywhere and that gets super annoying.

This is correct.
You don't even have to kill the passive mobs, just fly away from them. I mean, if you're building in Superflat, I'd assume you're in creative mode.
Suggestions for removing slimes at least have some merit. Saying you don't want mobs to spawn at all when you can just switch to peaceful is just silly.

Dude you did know that even on peaceful, slimes still spawn..
Back in the Minecraft day, slimes would do so.Now they need to spawn on easy, normal,or hard. They don't,however, despawn when the difficulty is changed to peaceful.
I don't think many people understood the OP's post correctly. Lots of people like to test out mob (or player) traps in Superflat worlds, and they have two methods of doing so:
-Play on Easy or above, but have Slimes hopping around all of your machines and messing things up
-Play on Peaceful, but have no way of testing your creations
I've had similar problems myself, and it can be really annoying when the landscape gets covered with mobs.

Despite what some might think, no. Slimes do not spawn that often unless you leave your game open during the whole day. This is because the normal hostile mobs spawn at night and die in the morning, but Slimes spawn in any light level. Because of restrictions on the number of mobs (lag reasons) this results in a bunch of slimes spawning. This is counteracted with two things:
Even during the day, not that many slimes can be found if you aren't in a slime chunk, as the only ones that will show up are wanderers.
The commands (/time set X) or (/time add X) make it so that you never actually have to leave nighttime, thus the hostile mobs don't die, and you can test your mob traps anyway.
So you see, mob problems can be solved by either switching to peaceful or typing "/time add WHATEVERTIME"

Completely off topic, but that's an incorrect use of that meme.

It just looks that way because there's no hills or anything to really define chunks in the perspective of the player.
