Hey wouldn't bee cool that villagers could build houses. I thought of this because one day in minecraft i found a village but with only one house and a blacksmith, so i had to build houses for them. Think of it their villages they would would get bigger and the population would get higher and soon a nough they could get a iron golem .
Agree, I don't really like building houses for them, also make it so they don't just spawn house out of thin air (someone might get stuck inside), also make it so they don't build right over something (another house for example), because that would just look down right messed up. Make villagers useful for something else, besides watching, and building houses for them, I want to have a HUGE village, that I did not have to work for.

I find the lack of turtles in your thread disturbing
I'd love for Houses to sometimes be added, As Long as it happens When The player is out of the chunk, So he doesn't see it. and that the new house would not genareate within 10 Blocks of player placed Objects......
I like the idea, but I think it'd make much more sense if they tried to REBUILD their village after a "worse night than others" zombie raid destroys their village.

Agreed.

It is an interesting but depressing reality that most politicians are just regular people with power. And most people would be as bad as politicians if only they could get some power.
I, for one, am "pro-villager"! I tend to take care of villages in hopes that one day soon Mojang will give them advanced AI.
However, if they are allowed to build thier own homes, it could end up having a viral effect. Think about it; It takes X villagers to build a house. With a new villager being "born" for every 3 doors, the population increases with 3 houses built. It would start off slowly at first but think of what happens when the numbers start to rise. Say you have 10 villagers and it takes 5 villagers to build a house. In 2 build cycles, you have a new villager. (2 buildings x 2cycles = 4 buildings = 4 doors. 3 doors= 1 new villager). In 8 build cycles you will have 16 new doors and 5 new villagers. Now for each build cycle you are building 3 houses (with 3 doors) and getting a new build crew in 5 cycles.
Not only would this bog the game speed down, but imagine what happens after playing for a while. It would be all out war just to keep your land! While this might seem like fun to some of you, in the long run (and with all of those goloms!) it would get very old, very quickly.
I think it would be nice to have them build their own buildings if there were restrictions; only so many blocks away from the well (and they couldn't build wells!), or you would have to lay the (4) cornerstones. A pre-specified arrangement would determine the building type. The player could allow the village size to increase by building another well.
Either way, I don't see them adding this feature, but it is nice that villagers will populate a town that YOU build.
Can't wait for trading!
That would be cool. However, I would like this to be the only new, serious AI. Like, for me, I am against trading or talking to villagers. But if they could expand their village just enough to get an iron golem, I'd be good with that.
I NEED YOU TO LET ME BUILD

BTW isn't the main feature in minecraft building?
