Would you want a very hard to make weapon that could release chain-lightning without being overpowered?

Just curious, I thought it could be cool if you could have weapons that could attack from long range like wands and/or spears. Maybe they could cast chain lightning too but would be super difficult to make.

And yes, longer weapons with lighting (like spears in Terraria) would be cool.
