So, I was talking to my brother today about adding in a furniture crafting skill, whenever, if ever, you decide to make crafting.
Every time I make a cave underground or make a house, I want a couch, or a rug, etc. For instance, it could take wool since it's abundant already to make the outside layer of a couch. And in order to make the structure of the couch have a window pop up with squares and tiny blocks to make the pieces. It'd be like the game only in design form.
Of course you could have presets and they take x wool and y wood and it just makes it.
I figured that idea worth mentioning :biggrin.gif:
AFAIK crafting will not be implemented in creative mode, but i would like some more interieur blocks :smile.gif:
(you already can make some nice pieces of furniture by using stair blocks and cloth, though)
I like the way people have figured out to make furniture with what we have. I think its really creative and imaginative, and we shouldn't add things like these just because they make things easier and more realistic.
The point is creativity. Instead of pre-built blocks, why don't you find a way to build it!

I'm pretty on par with this, however I think things such as 1/4th of a block should be implemented for more possibilities, and such.
As a reply to Janitor, I actually meant in Survival Mode. I love survival mode and the whole having to gather the materials to make whatever piece would be part of the fun.
I agree with what someoen said about 1/4 size blocks, but i think it would be a total pain in the ass to make something in the actual game, precise, and it would drive me insane (Why i mentioned the editor pane :biggrin.gif: )
and as for tgt114, I think adding something like this would increase the ability to be creative. Personally, I'd spend half my time making my fortress on the mountain protecting me from skeletons and what not, and the other half furnishing it!
Making my own couches and such. The point of the reduced blocks being to make it completely what you want it to be. Sure, i could make a couch of the big blocks, but i don't think it is as fun when compared to the character size.
At the end of the day it's the chair I trust
The cushion is comfy and the works don't rust
With a straight line of vision to my Elvis bust
Watch the kingdom, eat the bread crust
You know tgt.
what if, if it's possible, to place the 1/4 blocks in the exact spot you want to by using the arrow keys and some other thing in order to move it up and down in that spot.
But hey, I'd say it's at least worth a shot, and if it's more problem than it's worth, throw it out.

and dumb
Care to explain why or are you just trying to raise your post count?

I'm skeptical.

No? Remember Cave Game...?
I was actually discussing that with a friend today.
but I think that might get complicated. xD
Weird problems with placement, maybe.
