I looked up various synonyms of water and ocean words, as well as in different languages. They might be good names for the water dimension. I picked out the more "exotic" sounding ones that weren't similar to the English spellings.
I don't think calling it "The Pacific Ocean" would suit this realm. For reasons i cannot explain, i think i have heard the name somewhere before... Hmmm
Now i like your other ideas.
Some of my ideas, and responses to others:
The Pacific sounds good.
I also like The Deep.
How about The Trench? If the entrance is generated by the map, i think it would be a good idea to put it in a deep sea trench.
Creeper dimension, maybe made out of obsidian, the perfect place for unlimited supply but extremely dangerous...
This isn't a dimension suggestion right now, right now it's all about the water dimension, are you going to talk about whaat everyone else is talking about, or will you leave?

That was sort of harsh and random. The last half of that sentence is unnecessary.
I assume all of this discussion of height could be solved by simply making it 256 blocks from void to void. Notch changed the coding of the game to allow the height to be changed using mods for those who desired it. Therefore, it is not out of the question to suggest a height change for this dimension. It would simply be a rehash of the Nether code for where to place the portal I believe, although it is also possible to have a different code entirely where the player does not spawn equivalently to where the portal is in the Overworld and instead simply spawn on top of a solid block on the crust, since that seems to already be decided.
Another idea is to scrap the jungle idea entirely and instead use a sort of tundra-esque landscape with lichens on the ground and small stunted trees. The trees could look very unusual for a more alien effect, like squashed willow trees. If this was the case, then you would only require about 10 blocks for the crust, maybe less. The jungle should be a biome in the Overworld.

Minecraft makes me feel like I'm three. Playing with blocks and afraid of the dark.
i think if there is to be sharks and other hostile water mobs, there should be some under water movement increasing items. Like flippers or aqua jet or taming dalphins like in mo'creatures. The farther you go down the more dangeous its gonna be, like more powerful mobs, etc. Also, there should be glowsticks that act like torches but it works underwater as well. i'm not sure how you will craft it, but im thinking using glowing coral.

no we must make it 7 million blocks(so people can build ridiculously huge underwater stuff)
1.overwold(it's a hub for everything ye fool!)
2.waterland(the water dimension, gives you magic diamonds for twilight portal)
3.twilight forest land(a boss gives you something needed for making the portal work)
4.nether(for brewing and expirience harvesting, also for glowstone)
5.aether(similar to nether, mostly building EXP and arming yourself and preparing for the end)
6.the corrupt land(void, when you try to use the teleport to end land it breaks and you get teleported to the corrupt land, where you fight some sort of a combined mob, they drop magic powder needed for making a bug for exiting)
7.the end(instead of being teleported from the corrupt land to the overworld something interferes and you end up in the end)

There is already a planned order for the dimensions... overworld, nether, water dimension,, aether, end.
Yes,but the last one was a little bit strange, some bits were contradictory and disorganized.I don't think the end is supposed to be the fourth or third dimension, after all,it's THE END.
Edit:Actually the contradictory was some order from a couple of pages back.
Hehe, that's what i though when i imagined the void dimension, some sort of a core to minecraft, controlling everithyng or similar to whatever could be happening in there.
Yea, a lot unfortunately. 256 is already a lot, but 512 is possibly, too (albeit with lag). Anything above that goes into the realm of unplayable for the average computer.

I really don't see why. Watch and you will see how high 512 blocks is. Keep in mind that the jump he does is only HALF of the world. 512 blocks is immense.

That's why we aren't including the aether. We are going to make our own sky dimension, how does that sound?

this isn't a dimension suggestion thread, but these are some cool ideas.
a technology dimension with robots and stuff would be cool though....
I'm not, but maybe I over estimated a little.
