I was thinking, wouldn't it be cool to have a fast way of climbing back up a mountain once it's already been scaled? Well, if a saddled dragon could fly you up there that'd be a soltion, but who's to say you won't cheat by using your pet Ender Dragon to fly up in the first place? Well, if we had Dragon's Perches we could garentee Minecraft players can get the awesome experience of flying a dragon, and the awesome experience of playing Minecraft! Basicly once you get an Ender Egg, you place it in a nest (another suggestion, nests [can also be used to incubate chicken eggs]) and once it hatches you have to feed it so it can grow, but you can only feed it so much at a time, and it has to be feed multiple times. Once the dragon grows you can CRAFT a saddle and place it on your ender dragon (which should only grow about half the size as the ender dragon boss since it might be an ancient dragon). Crafting saddles isn't too important, in fact it may be a bad idea since you'd still have to find a dungeon if you couldn't craft them. The ender dragon you raise should not have the capability to fly through the land and destroy it since it's not quite as big. You can jump off of your ender dragon without being near a perch but then it'd just swirl around the sky until one came within a horizontal, 50 block raduis of where you left your dragon. The only downside would be when you leave your dragon in the desert and go to get some wood to build a dragon's perch but forget which direction you left you dragon in. That's why it would follow you but not too much. It will stay a good distance behind you until you place a perch in which case it would fly to that.
A good design for a perch would be like this:
Maybe you could also enchant your Dragon Egg with dyes to change the colour of it when it hatches. I think flying a red or blue dragon around the world of Minecraft would be awesome since the defualt colour is black. Maybe the egg can also be the colour of what ever colour dragon it will hatch to become.
The colour feature would be good for any guild wars on a SMP server rather then looking for the name for the dragon's mounter.
I feel this suggestion is getting to be too big so I'll end it now.
Where's the poll option to "all of these are bad ideas"? Because it's overpowered. You no longer need to make stairs, just make a dirt pillar and place the perch. Plus it's plain stupid to paint a dragon.

I feel like you have a point, but it isn;t stupid. the egg is there for a reason, and it should be your pet,not an excuse to make supersized omlets.
It be nice if when you color the egg,the dragon can look special 9cosmetic wise, not any powers in game) like red dragons ahve extra horns, and blues have different wings etc.
also it should be required you use a pig saddle (since they are rare) and sometimes they will disobey your orders. After all, such an elegent and powerful entity can not be fully controlled, and sometimes it may wonder off despite your orders. However disobedience is quite rare, and maybe only 15% of the time it disobeys.

1. Each question had an option to say the ideas were bad.
2. If you went through the trouble to collect all of those ender pearls, make eyes of ender, and locate a santuary, I think you deserve a reward. Your also not going in there unprepared for the fight, so you have to get good equipment. You MUST have a bow with a lot of arrows to shoot the things on the towers. You cant fly in survival and mining the obsidian to climb the towers is just a retarded idea. You would also want a sword in case you ran out of arrows before you killed the dragon. It's common sense that it takes quite a while to play properly and get to the point where you verse the dragon.
3. The perch is to simply make the dragon less powerful. You must place one before you can land so your dragon wont fly away.
4. I said the only reason painting your dragon egg with the enchantment table is so you can have guild wars in SMP without confusion. Do you thik the idea of colouring leather or making wool amour is a bad idea? It'd be for the same reason but I know people like that idea.
I'm thinknig you didn't try processing the words I posted when you read because your response barely explains your thoughts and appears to say when you don't like an idea it's bad. I dislike good ideas sometimes. Thast doesn't make them bad. Multiplayer has PvP mainly so players can verse each other in combat apposed to mobs that can't plan things. Why else would they have it in there? It amazes me when people only see negatives in ideas since almost all ideas have positives and negatives. Again, the only reason I suggested magicly enchanting a dragon egg is to reduce confusion in multiplayer PvP matches.
Also:
5. Incubating the dragon egg to hatch it will take a very long time so if you do want the convinience of quickly climbing a mountain and invading enemy bases with a bow and arrow then you have to work hard and then wait for that feature.
I also said in another thread about enderdragon that dragons, when mounted, should only be able to fly so far of the ground. Maybe 10-20 blocks high. MAYBE.
I hope posting this long message wasn't a waste of my time.
i think this is a vary good idea but instead of using sticks i would use obsidian works better for the fact that sticks would be too weak and snap and not to metion that getting obsidian is a hard task sometimes which would make up for how easy you'd think getting a dragon really is...
