I think zombies should be able to bash certain things to death like wooden doors, dirt, sand, grass and maybe wood but i think it should only be man-made blocks that can be destroyed or there will be nothing left.
I really would love this! Currently, survival mode isn't survival mode. It's more like "build a house then get bored" mode. There should definitely be hunger and thirst as well (which i hear notch is planing to put into a realism difficulty). This would make the mode WAY more fun, and I think that there should be a way to win the game too. Possibly finding a way to reach civilization again or something. Just as long as there is a goal, I will be happy.
I don't care what you think. What you think doesn't matter to me the slightest. I state my opinion/thoughts. Nothing more.
Now, I didn't know there was planning to be a "realism" difficulty. Now if that indeed is the case. Then sure, go ahead and put this in. Since this is a core change to the game. People should have the choice to not put up with this.
On a side note, I don't think stone should be mine-able by mobs. Stone mostly because it's common. And people are going to build big things, it is Minecraft after all.
And lose your tone. There isn't any reason to **** people needlessly.
Skeletons should just be able to shoot arrows through soft materials, zombies should only be able to dig through dirt, and sheep should also be eating grass, have pigs remove grass as will and turn it into fertile dirt.

The man made blocks might be a bit hard to do as it might be difficult knowing what's man made and whats naturally generated, unless you talk about things like brick, planks and glass that does not naturally occurs in the wild.
AS for the zombies breaking doors, that will need some work. Doors should still serve a purpose, so if zombies where to be able to breach a door then some kind of craftable lock should be added to the game so that you can create safer doors. (Doors that are both strong and does not require a switch to operate).
In my mind zombies and other mobs would only be digging if they spot something they want. So zombies will dig if they saw you enter a building, but they will not be randomly digging.

This does give more incentive to building platform-style houses though.
For this, and other reasons (outer perimeter wall, trench, elevated entrance), I don't think this will make houses much more difficult to defend, after the first few nights.
However, I do think it will add some danger to mining/spelunking, which might be interesting. Personally, I would make the zombie the best (maybe only) digger, because it's the least threatening in other ways.
Possibly:
Zombies: Any block that you can harvest barehanded.
Spiders: Only dirt, gravel, and sand.
Skeletons: Like the zombies, but slower, and they won't dig if they can shoot.
Creepers: Nothing, they don't even have arms!
Pigs survive in the wild by rooting around in the dirt with their snouts, aka digging little holes to find food.
Anyway, this seems like a cool idea, though skeletons destroying stone is a bit extreme. Maybe just give them axes to destroy wood.

Like this?

Simple homes aren't secure. They're dirt.
