wool on you should catch on fire by means of explosions, and make you burn forever until the armor is broken and you die, so you can look pretty and flammable

Well sure it's flammable, but taking it off is quick, and if you're on fire it's not as if you'd die instantly, fire in Minecraft is like water racing downhill 50 blocks. You just get bored watching it eat you alive.

That's silly, wool would just be another type of armor with a small quirk. You're complicating things. It can be flammable, which is a negative, but is good for out of game features, like ROLEPLAYING, as stated before, or get togethers, SMP, and the such.

Unless notch does something like he did with grass, this would completely fill up the items.png
Maybe instead of having another useless tyre worse than leather they could slowly heal you?
Ah, calm down, items.png is fine. A few other items wouldn't crowd it, i'm sure there will be more coming along anyway.
Besides, I didn't plan on getting this implemented into the game, that would be like asking for a million dollars from Notch, just silly. Maybe just a mod, or something.
Broham. You're trying too hard. If someone wants to make a mod of this, or implement it into anything, THEY can do it. We all understand it would be troublesome getting this made.

It's just suggesting colorful clothings. Each with the dye-specific damage value to get more colors. Only 4 items are needed if you keep the damage values.
That method (Used with wool) saves item ID spaces, not spaces in the items.png or terrain.png file.
Not to mention the damage values would already be used by the durability.

Is this whole forum planning to list this? Bro. We understand. Yet again. It will have to be worked around.
If it's a problem, it can easily be changed into a suit of armor much like the pumpkin helmet, there for USES OUT OF THE REAL MINECRAFT, such as enjoyment of having the fine suit of clothing, RPing, some SMP meetings and whatnot, eyecandy, whatever the player wants. I can't stress it enough that it doesn't matter how hard it is, if someone wants to do it, they can. I'm not forcing it down your throat to make it now, I just enjoy the thought of perhaps one day having wool clothing as a mod or an ingame feature.

You can actually already have different colored clothes. It's called editing your skin. No need to go through so much trouble.

Your name might as well be bummer. The clothes are meant to be used with skins, so it's more... customizable, don't need to rush for a skin editor, yell at one to make you one, or learn how to make one. Too much effort. If one person makes this, 100 people get to be happy. Like sacraficing one for millions. It's just one of those features that makes Minecraft what it is, and the features that have only one or two uses, but good ones. Like slimes, eh? Fun to catch, a good job position comes with slimes, slimehunter, eh?

I like this. It may not have many SSP uses, but think about how you could use it in SMP to signify what city you were from, or what side you were on in a war or sport!

Yes, but wouldn't it be useful (especially in SMP) to be able to signify what group you were part of WITHOUT having to change your skin. Sure, everyone on the server could edit their skins to match. But what if you play on 3 servers?

Exactly what I mean, man. Too much hastle.

It shouldn't break, and it should give you very little protection, but it would slow you down in water as if you were wearing iron.
Exactly this. But waterish thing would be a bit too hard. Just keep it simple, I think. Normal armor with a small disability of flammability.
Already Suggested....you should have searched (I don't know if someone didn't say it already)
Okay. Cool. Go away please, as I stated I know people have started this before, but I stress the idea I'd like it. Plus, mine is different and more... unique.

Cool story... bro.

Wool clothing? I think this is what people in old country call... cloth?
Heh, well, sure. Yeah. But, wool armor sounds badass, like it's super durable ultralast wool that kills people and doesn't afraid of anything.
