I wish they would add Herobrine as a permanent in game character. He would be a totally autonomous character with an evil agenda for those of us that dont have any friends to play with like me. The player would summon him by building a totem pole out of 2 gold blocks, soul sand and a nether block on top. As soon as you light the nether block on fire itd be struck by lightning, and he would stalk the player for the first 3 in game days, eventually killing the player by the end of the 3rd day. After that he would go about with his evil agenda like building himself a house with a dungeon, collecting materials , crafting himself tools and armor out of whatever materials the algorithim chooses. And make sure he builds his house about 5000 blocks away from the players spawn so you dont have to compete with him for materials. Every so often he would seek out, stalk, and eventually try to kill players similar to the way pillagers raid villages. I think itd be fun to see Herobrine be a totally autonomous evil A.I. and watch him go about his evil agenda , and see what he does evolve over time. Itd be cool to watch him build himself a house, as long as he doesnt see you.....Im sure there would be all kinds of cool ideas for Herobrine to do while hes carrying out his evil agenda.....
This seems like an awful lot of work, not to mention some technical difficulties (or impossibilities) to overcome just to make what boils down to a new mob that is a bit smarter.
Plus, Herobrine has never been a compelling character or creepypasta. It is just another lazy take on the "It looks like the player, but is EEEVVVILLL!" trope that has been done to death in media, especially in video games.

Im sure itd be really hard, if not impossible to code, but itd be kinda interesting to see what it would do if it was able to "think" for itself. I can just picture in my head all of the youtube videos.. "Herobrine did this in my game....Herobrine built that,.....Youll never believe what Herobrine did in my game......" etc.......I think itd be interesting to see what it would do/build/ how things would evolve over time...And like i said i picture him being for people like myself that dont have any friends to play online with. I think itd be fun to be like, "lets go see what Herobrine is up to.." Go find him, watch him from afar, and see him doing crazy unusual stuff, see what tools/armor he makes for himself, the possibities are endless.....And because youd have to build the totem to summon him it prevents him from being in the game unless you want him there. (I also would have him NOT be invincible, he could be killed, re spawn, and drop all of his stuff when he dies just like players)
I like the idea of an optional entity that develops alongside the player, but I don't think Herobrine is the best choice for it. If anything, I'd like to see one of the old removed mobs serve this purpose. Either that or create some entirely new player-like mob. Give it simple AI or complex, but give it influence over the world.

Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.
Feel free to drop by for a chat whenever.
If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
I've said this before but... Herobrine is the Cringey Sonic OC of Minecraft, and no amount of official promotion is going to change that.
Herobrine is a stale meme at best and a stain on the Minecraft fandom's history at worst, albeit a minor one when compared to a rather idiotic fandom history. I'm not saying that every part of Minecraft's fandom in the Herobrine days was bad, I think some of the CaptainSparkles parodies were decent and there were plenty of decent Let's Players, but Herobrine, to me, only reminds me of the days where Minecraft on Youtube meant bizarre animated CGI videos with a childish sense of humor or low-quality Minemator videos.
I think it's at most funny to keep throwing "Removed Herobrine" in the changelog every version or to toss Herobrine in a piece of promotional material, but Herobrine deserves no endorsement greater than either of those.
Now, it would be interesting to have an AI competitor in general in Minecraft, but I don't like the idea of the player being able to steal from the AI's chests and loading themselves with mountains of loot that has been automatically mined for them.

My avatar is a texture from a small block game I made in Python. It's not very good and it probably won't work if you install it.
I'm very alone in my Minecraft worlds as I don't have a very good internet connection to run a server. If you're like me, you might be interested in my Posse mod suggestion.
that is tooooo hard. First if he stalks you that's creepy. Second he will be super hard to code. Third if he can build houses and stuff they might mine down your house for minerals.
ive never found herobrine lore all that interesting, but i did think it would be funny if mojang added a herobrine mob that would appear only for a second in front of the player just once or twice, and only put it on one copy of the game so some random kid is thrown through the biggest loop when he sees an actual herobrine in his world and then no one believes him
i think a drowned with a trident is plenty irritating enough in terms of difficulty. one thing id personally like to see is the pick/place rate of endermen being much higher than it is. theyre described as mobs that can "disassemble your wall," but they rarely move more than one grass block and their spawn rate is way too low to collectively change anything significant in the long run. if a single enderman could move like 5 blocks in his time instead of the nothing he currently does it would make them more interesting and essentially negate the need for OPs mob functionality. good ideas though

Maybe Minecraft should do this one halloween. That actually would be cool.
But for the rest of the year, it is best to keep Herobrine a legend.
I don't even play Minecraft much anymore yet here I am on the Minecraft forums for some reason...

How has no one yet seen the summoning ritual's similarities to that one herobrine mod?
Who's that behind you?

This kinda bad idea.
Fire player's houses, trees, and killing kinda TOO hardcore.
+He is invicible. (Or not i dont know)
Kind of a copy of that one old herobrine mod, except in that one they just added randomly generated trap houses instead of an AI.
