I gotta say though, the first thought that came to mind when I read your post was, is this some April Fool's Update Minecraft is planning called The Salt and Pepper Update

This is solid. Can you elaborate on how cured cooked meat is better though?
While i do like the idea, especially the water thing, though i feel like it could end up ruining builds, i don't see a point to cured meat sense you can just cook it.
