Please give me one reason to not give infinite reach to creative players.
edit : because of performance loss, the reach lenght should be a customisable option, so the players who don't want to lag would be able to adjust the value.

🥖 As a french I usually make english mistakes, so don't be afraid to correct me if I used an inappropriate word. Thanks. 🥖
I'm not sure how this would cause lag as long as "infinite" means only to the edge of loaded chunks (it doesn't make any sense to go any further); it doesn't take much CPU power at all to "draw" a line from the player to wherever they are looking, even thousands of times per second (much less 20 or 1 per tick), even on an ancient (19 year old) CPU with the slowest commonly used algorithm (each line is 1024 to 1448 pixels long, equivalent to 64 chunk render distance. 3D would be a bit slower due to having 3 directions but the maximum length would not be much longer since the end is at most 256 blocks above/below the player):

Well, for one, it’d be a bit glitchy probably, would likely cause lag at longer distances, and could generally be a pain sometimes.
Extend the reach? This is something I could get behind
Make it infinite? Yeah probably not
Minimum support, change ‘infinite’ to ‘extended’ and I’ll up the support, but infinite reach is a little ridiculous
Brewers poem;
Glowstone makes it stronger,
Redstone makes it longer
Yes that poem is very easy to mess up.
Yeah, I support stuff. Although most of this is between 'would enjoy in game' to 'holy jeez meh needyz!'

Relative coordinates (eg.for the fill command) will make this less of an issue when they are implemented…
Increasing reach by a few blocks wouldn't hurt anything I can see if confined to creative, but I'd much rather have:
@killerpike I think a solution would be to make it a customisable option, so the players who don't want to lag would just be able to adjust the value.
@douwe265 I thought the benefit was obvious : you don't have to move if you want to break/put a block in a far spot.
Why would we have to explain something that is tacit in understanding?
If you can not figure out the benefits of this, you sorely need to start using logic.
Yes, he should have explained more.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
/gamerule RandomReachDistance 30
Your reach is now 30
/gamerule RandomReachDistance 100
99 is the max reach distance
