The Gillosaur would be a new boss mob that spawns in the deeper regions of the Ocean. It would offer a new challenge to those who sail the Minecraftian seas, as well as reward those who dare challenge it.
Appearance
Gillosaur is a bipedal, dark green reptile. It's six meters tall, and 4 meters wide. Unlike most creatures in Minecraft, Gillosaur has visible arms and knees, as well as hands and fingers and feet and toes. At the ends of the fingers and toes are black, sharp claws. Its head is shaped like that of a spinosaurus, with glowing, yellow eyes; and lots of very sharp teeth. Also like a spinosaurus, it has a long profusion on its back, resembling a fan. Although it can stand up, when walking normally, it walks on all fours. However, when it runs, it uses only its two hind legs, with its arms stretched out, ready to snatch anything in its path. When it swims, it silently slithers through the water, hunting for prey. Its eyes glowing in the darkness of the depths.
Stats
The Gillosaur has 150 HP, which equals to 75 Hearts. It has as much defense as a full set of iron armor because of its tough scales. It can deal up to 7 hearts of damage with its many attacks.
Spawning
During the day, Gillosaurs spawn at the deepest parts of the ocean, right down to Y:10, where the light does not reach. During the night however, when darkness covers the ocean, they come up to the regions near the Surface. They are a solitary species, so you'll almost never see more than one next to each other. As you might've noticed, Gillosaurs dislike light, so if you want to keep them away from any underwater bases you might have, just light up the surrounding area, and they won't come near. However, they will come near if they chase you there. Rarely, they will come on land to hunt land creatures.
Attacks
The Gillosaur has an array of attacks to use against you, so be prepared.
Stomp-The Gillosaur will do this attack if you attack its legs. It raises its foot up and brings it down on you, dealing three hearts of damage. You have about a second to dodge it. It cannot use this attack underwater.
Scratch-The most common attack the Gillosaur uses. It will only use this attack when you are close to it, and it will knock you back two blocks. It uses this attack both on land and water.
Charge-The Gillosaur will use this weapon when you are 20 or more blocks away from it. This will do 4 damage normally, but it can also follow up this attack with a snatch attack, which does no damage, but leads to something worse. Can only be done on land.
Snatch-Occasionally used to follow up a Charge, but it can also be used underwater as its own attack. Does no damage, but leads up to the Gillosaur's most devastating attack.
Snap-Sometimes follows a snatch attack, but can follow a Roar or just not follow anything at all. The Gillosaur brings you close to its face and bites down, dealing 7 hearts of damage.
Jump-This attack is only used when you're on a boat at night. The Gillosaur will jump out of the water and attempt to land on your boat. You have about two seconds to dodge it. It deals three hearts of damage and breaks your boat.
Ram-The Gillosaur will begin to chase your boat. If it gets close enough, it will strike your boat with its head in an attempt to break your boat.
Roar-This attack will only be used when your under water. The Gillosaur will let out a loud roar, sending shockwaves at its target. These shockwaves distort the water around, making it difficult to swim. Usually followed up by a scratch or a snap.
Sneak-This necessarily isn't an attack, but often is followed up by other attacks. The Gillosaur will swim around you, examining you. It would be almost invisible, except for its eyes. After about 15 seconds, it will attack.
Drops
After its defeat, there are several things the Gillosaur can drop.
Gillosaur Scales-Gillosaur scales can be used along with Gillosaur eyes and spine pieces to create the Aqua armor. They drop 8-16 scales.
Gillosaur eyes-Used to make the Aqua helm. The aqua helm looks like Gillosaur's head. When worn, it will create light when you're underwater. They drop 0-2 of these.
Spine pieces-Used to make the Aqua Chestplate. When worn, it makes you swim a lot faster and more smoothly than normal. They drop 2-7 of them.
Gillosaur Skull-A trophy for beating the terror of the seas. Has no purpose other than decoration. Using two glowing eyes, it will gaze at you as you walk past.
Aqua Armor
The Aqua armor looks like a Gillosaur costume. It lets you see underwater and swim easier. It also has the affects of depth strider, respiration, and aqua affinity. When you wear the full set, you will be covered in darkness whenever you enter the water, making it harder for mobs to see you.
Miscellaneous things
Gillosaurs will use their attacks to hunt other mobs, such as fish, guardians, turtles, squids, and sometimes land creatures.
When killing an animal that drops food, it will eat that food.
The roar the Gillosaur makes is comprised of an Alligator roar, a Tiger's roar, and a Screaming frog.
The chances of a Gillosaur spawning in the deeper parts of the ocean are higher than the chances of them spawning near the surface during the night.
What do you think? Should there be improvements? Let me know!

dont look at this
Sounds cool, but maybe make it less overpowered. Also make the aqua armor more useful and I assume it is crafted like all other armors.
Spinosaur-like reptile with fan on tail?
By the way, this suggestion sounds great! If "Update Aquatic" won't add some dangerous mobs, Gillosaur would work well. I may model the Gillosaur.
There was an edgy statement on "skeletons and zombies being undead humans" but I erased it lol
Maybe bring the health down to 75 hearts to balance it.
Fixed the health thing. Can anyone else tell me how else this mob is overpowered?
dont look at this
The Fan-like protrusion is on its back, but you could make it extend down the tail.
dont look at this
Yeah good idea
