So I was talking with my friends before we started playing bed wars and we got on the topic of Minecraft updates and I made the suggestion of a Space exploration Update. A Space Exploration Update would make the game so much more fun, we already have the Aquatic update coming into Minecraft to add things into the water and a mob into the sky so why not for space.
Why we should have it?
There are already mods to go for space but most of them ore on 1.7.9 so adding the Space Exploration Update would give the game a longer life.
What would happen?
Things that i was thinking could be added into the Space Exploration Update were planets like Mars, Neptune, Uranus, Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Mercury, and this inst considered a planet but Pluto. Mars would a barren wasteland with maybe a few Alien temples scattered around and maybe even a new mob related to a Martian Alien. Neptune would be the opposite mainly composed on ice and water but would have some sort of giant creatures living here. Uranus would mostly be composed of gases since it is a gas giant but could have cloud cities and some sort of warrior race of people living on it. The same goes for Saturn and Jupiter but these two could have giant cities which more "technologically advanced" by having incubators that could breed and grow Ender Dragons and other types of flying mobs. Venus and Mercury could be sort of power stations for these two Alien civilizations and could send power to them. This new power could be introduced as a new block but rather than being physical it would be more of something you attach to currently existing blocks making things like Redstone easier to be maintained.
What kind of blocks could be added?
This new block can only be obtained by going to mercury and Venus and is harder to obtain due to it distance to the Sun. You would need a special space suit for mars that would allow to breath its unique atmosphere. That spacesuit could be upgraded with slots in it that you would upgrade to be able to go to the rest of the planets. However in order to obtain the special upgrade that allows you to obtain this new type of Redstone you would have to search through hidden labs on these planets. Overall if you have read this far you can tell that i'm very enthusiastic about the idea of a Space Exploration Update and have thought of it a lot. These ideas are not final and may be tweaked in the future and if Mojang chooses to use this idea I would appreciate some credit.
You wanted more i'll give you more...
First off all i would like to talk about "the different celestial bodies," I am currently talking about adding these planets by themselves, there is no need to add 4 or more different moons to each planet yet. Mojang would need to focus on making the actual planets first and then moving onto the bodies that orbit the planet. Not only that but the planet wont be perfect instantly, heck if they decided to add it it wouldn't come out until 1.15 or after. Mojang is working on the Aquatic Update as of now and would need some time to put together an update of this size. It may take a few update to add these "Advanced technologies" but that is completely fine because if you've stuck with the game this far, you'd be willing to see it grow more and give you more content to explore.
Problems with Planets
Yes, while I partially agree with the argument that it would difficult or almost impossible to land on certain planets which have acid rain and high wind speeds in real life but Minecraft is a game where imagination is key. Gravity hasn't even been introduced in the current Minecraft, so adding wind speeds and acid rain and whatever else there is in real life would only make it more difficult to get around, as if traveling to another planet isn't enough, the most gravity that has been introduced is a player falling. The last thing Minecraft needs is its Imagination factor being taken away. I mean do you really think that Redstone is a real thing,No, what about the Ender dragon or Ender men or maybe the End it self. None of that is real, that is what makes Minecraft, well Minecraft. You are able to explore and enjoy many different biomes and situations and are able to explore your wildest imaginations, So ask yourself do you really want to end that.
Planet Specifics
Mars
Mars would not only be a barren wasteland but would have being living here and would have temples and all sorts of new adventures that wait for you. There would be villages ,much like in Galacticraft but instead would be more open and suggesting that these Martians can survive in these sorts of places.
Ores here
Certain ores could spawn here that would make the planet more unique and a bigger reason to visit the planet. A few ores I had in mind would be named after the scientists that discovered mars. The first would be the most common and would be called Brahemium (brah'-he-me-um), named after the the scientist Tycho Brahe who had made accurate measurements of mars' position in 1576. The second would be called Kepler, named after the scientist Johannes Kepler who drew the orbits of all the planets. The third and final would be named Huygenium(Hahy-guh-nz) after the scientist Christian Huygens who had drawn mars in a sketch and discovered an area on mars which is called Syrtis Major.
Ore details
Brahemium would be used to help map out mars and its landscape and although this might not seem like a lot it would very helpful to do this. This is a lot like a map but its the only idea i have so suggestions would be open. The crafting recipe for this would require six of the smelted ore, 3 down each side of the crafting table, 2 paper for the top and bottom middle section and 1 redstone in the middle of the crafting tab. Kepler would have the most use as it would map out the solar system and show where planets are currently located. This map of the solar system would refresh every time a player faced it so a player would have to turn around and turn back toward it to see where planets are. The crafting recipe for this would be 4 of the smelted ore in each corner, 4 paper in each of the middle sections of each side and 1 compass in the middle. Huygenium would not be found around the world as normal but would be dropped by a boss as a reward. To make a trophy sketch of mars to show that you have conquered it you would have 4 Kepler in each corner, 1 diamond in the middle section of the left and right side and and 3 brahemium down the middle of the crafting table.
Mars Boss
The mars boss would have 400 health and have a specific building where he would spawn at. The building where he spawns at and would be a dungeon at a very suspicious village( may or may not be abandoned, still deciding) and would spawn very rarely. The spawn chance of this village would be very rare and only 6 would spawn per world or every mars dimension. The dungeon would be 120 by 120 blocks from the far corners and would consist of only 1 hallway that leads to the boss. Here is a map to explain better explain...
Neptune
Neptune would be similar to mars but would mainly consist of creatures and not beings. Neptune would have to be made of ice and water to make it look similar to Neptune but able to walk on it so now that that is out of the way. The creatures would be large and slow and the very few beings would be small.
Creature here?
The creature here would be large, very large. They would stand 5 blocks tall some of them and others 3 1/2 blocks tall. Though these 5 block tall creatures may seem massive there will only be a few which lead these packs of creatures. I don't have a name for these creatures and will be uploading concept art of them in the near future, so names are needed and suggestions are open. These creature wound freely roam the world and would be passive unless attacked. These creatures would also have 30 health if 5 blocks tall and 22 if 3 1/2. The beings here will be called Hunters and will have 20 health and will be equipped with a bow and will be able to fire 1 arrow every 5 seconds. These will be hostile and will be found in groups of 4. They will travel with Snow dogs from Neptune which will also attack when their Hunter gets low on health.(Concept art will be released soon)
The ideas are there, and I like them, but they need to be a bit more refined and specific. You should also re-format this suggestion to use paragraph breaks and sort your ideas by subject. It needs to be more refined, but the core idea is pretty decent. Maybe not the most fitting for VANILLA Minecraft, but hey, that's what mods are for and there's an entire section for suggesting those.
That's what mods are for. There are things that aren't 'minecrafty' if you get what im saying. Like whats the point of building a giant palace if you're just going to abandon it and go to mars in a few days?

I have a minecraft role-play realm, DM me if interested
I don't know if space fits fully into Minecraft because of the End. The End already acts as a sort of space dimension, and if you were to add more planets I feel you need to include the End somehow. Maybe the End could be the "moon" with it containing something necessary to go to other planets. With that in mind I disagree with directly adapting the planets from the Sol System. I would instead prefer to see new, original, and unique dimensions. Because if you added an alien race to Jupiter a lot of people would be confused. It would be much easier if you made up your own planets.
It's clear that while you are indeed enthusiastic about this, you haven't put too much thought into the specifics. If you ever want to post your idea to Mojang (on reddit) you will need info on the terrain, items, and stats of all the mobs. left Now since you are suggesting 8 new dimensions, that's gonna be a lot of work. But if you do finish, I look forward to the finished product.
Minecraft has been growing for the better part of a decade and has far from exhausted the variety to be found on one planet.
Even if the other planets are lifeless (as seems likely IRL) doing a similar level justice to the varied geography and geology of even one (and only one of the small rocky inner planets) would likely take roughly equvalent resouces.
Keeping things more fantastical (as with the Nether and the End) would be my preference.
This avoids all those pesky little details like astronomical distances, orbital mechanics, and the difference between the heliocentric solar system of reality and MC's flat earth.
From your descriptions of what you envision for the various planets, it sounds like you want to pursue a more Gersback-ian approach in any event.
Although that golden age rarely worried about spacesuits…
As such the first goal would be to develop MC's moon. [Although I'd really prefer not to have it made out of green cheese….]
After that the Sun; no reason at all it needs to be a gravitationally driven fusion reactor
…then maybe the crystal shell on which its stars are mounted
And please no Super-Duper Redstone (ComputerCraft etc already exist if you want more tech in your MC experience.)

WARNING: I have an extemely "grindy" playstyle; YMMV — if this doesn't seem fun to you, mine what you can from it & bin the rest.
Unless each planet had enough content to explore and discover, each planet would just feel like another biome instead of another planet. Like fishg said, though, if you are able to come up with enough content (and you present it in a more readable way) I would very much enjoy reading.
This idea of a "space" update has SO MUCH potential, I already have a bunch of ideas right now. Spoiler Alert; I won't support your idea until I can be satisfied, but just hear me out.
1. You really need to include paragraph breaks in your suggestion so that it's readable.
2. You should take fishg's suggestion on board because I think it's fantastic. If you included The End as the "moon" of MC's over-world, then that would tackle a lot of confusion, since The End has a space feel to it as well.
3. Your planet descriptions are great, but maybe you could have new blocks that act as portals for the planets, and ways to obtain said "portal blocks."
4. I don't think a new type of redstone is a good idea, redstone is complicated on its own.
Overall:
This thread truly interests me, but there are simply too many gaps that you have not filled. Until I see a well structured and detailed suggestion, you don't have my support.
That's what mods are for. There are things that aren't 'minecrafty' if you get what im saying. Like whats the point of building a giant palace if you're just going to abandon it and go to mars in a few days?
A lot of things in Minecraft are not what a typical player would consider 'minecrafty'. A space update is a wonderful idea if it's designed correctly. You also don't need to abandon said palace just to go to a planet, but that's an idea that the suggester could develop. I don't think you understand how good this idea could be.
Why not space?
The first reason is that The End dimension already looks too much like a Space dimension.
The second reason is that Space Exploration requires technology beyond Minecraft's tech level.
(At the time of writing, we haven't even gotten to Mars in real life yet, and the most powerful technology in Minecraft, the record, was invented before 1900. Heck, you don't even make the records, you find them from ancient chests, which might suggest an old, dead civilization made them and Steve figured out how to play them.)
Why we should have it?
There are already mods to go for space but most of them ore on 1.7.9 so adding the Space Exploration Update would give the game a longer life.
(You mean 1.7.10? I don't think anyone cares about making mods for 1.7.9)
Galacticraft and Advanced Rocketry have already updated to at least 1.10.2 if you want to check them out, but I fail to see how that's linked to the game's lifetime.
What would happen?
Things that i was thinking could be added into the Space Exploration Update were planets like Mars, Neptune, Uranus, Jupiter, Saturn, Venus, Mercury, and this inst considered a planet but Pluto.
If we're going to add new dimensions to the game in the form of planets, why not include some of the more interesting celestial bodies to visit? Europa and Enceladus have some water which might contain life, and Titan has an atmosphere and lakes of methane.
Venus isn't an easy planet to even exist on. It's thick atmosphere would kill you if the acid rain, volcanoes and heat don't kill you before that happens.
Pluto and Mercury are both boring, grey rocks, one hot and one cold. I can't really see why you'd want to visit them more than once. (Sure, you could mine them, but there are nicer and easier places to mine.)
Mars would a barren wasteland with maybe a few Alien temples scattered around and maybe even a new mob related to a Martian Alien.
This is a pretty short description for an entire dimension.
What's the ground made of? What ores spawn? And give me more information on these Aliens and their temple too. What does the temple look like? How much HP do the aliens have? Etcetera, etcetera.
Neptune would be the opposite mainly composed on ice and water but would have some sort of giant creatures living here.
Neptune is a gas giant... What makes you think you could land there? (It also has wind blowing at hundreds of miles per hour.)
The Ender dragon is specific to the End Dimension, it doesn't need to exist in another dimension.
Again, you didn't specify any real details about these cities, mobs or warrior races. You need to specify this stuff, it's not our job or Mojang's job to write the suggestion for you.
Venus and Mercury could be sort of power stations for these two Alien civilizations and could send power to them. This new power could be introduced as a new block but rather than being physical it would be more of something you attach to currently existing blocks making things like Redstone easier to be maintained.
When do I ever maintain Redstone... and how do I do it?
Are you trying to suggest a power system similar to Redstone Flux? I don't think that fits into Vanilla Minecraft very well, but you haven't really specified what this power is used for or how exactly I generate or transport it.
What kind of blocks could be added?
This new block can only be obtained by going to mercury and Venus and is harder to obtain due to it distance to the Sun. You would need a special space suit for mars that would allow to breath its unique atmosphere.
The atmosphere on Mars is only 0.6% of Earth's atmospheric pressure. You wouldn't need space suit equipment different from visiting a planet without an atmosphere. You would need a very special space suit to go to Venus because of the previously mentioned atmospheric pressure.
That spacesuit could be upgraded with slots in it that you would upgrade to be able to go to the rest of the planets.
We already have enchanting, spacesuits don't need a different upgrading system from everything else.
However in order to obtain the special upgrade that allows you to obtain this new type of Redstone you would have to search through hidden labs on these planets.
What do these labs look like? Where do they spawn on planets? What is this new type of Redstone that you never mentioned before now?
Overall if you have read this far you can tell that i'm very enthusiastic about the idea of a Space Exploration Update and have thought of it a lot. These ideas are not final and may be tweaked in the future and if Mojang chooses to use this idea I would appreciate some credit.
You never even mentioned how to get to the planets...
No Support.
Very few details, way too many features, missing parts... I'm not completely object to the idea of a space dimension(s) in Minecraft, but this what little this suggestion does describe doesn't meet my expectations.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
My avatar is a texture from a small block game I made in Python. It's not very good and it probably won't work if you install it.
I'm very alone in my Minecraft worlds as I don't have a very good internet connection to run a server. If you're like me, you might be interested in my Posse mod suggestion.
Mars would a barren wasteland with maybe a few Alien temples scattered around and maybe even a new mob related to a Martian Alien. May you elaborate on said mob?
Neptune would be the opposite mainly composed on ice and water but would have some sort of giant creatures living here. Again, elaborate on that.
Uranus would mostly be composed of gases since it is a gas giant but could have cloud cities Okay, so what about the cloud cities? What buildings do they have? Are the cities Steampunk? Medieval? Modern?
and some sort of warrior race of people living on it. Elaborate on said "warrior race"
The same goes for Saturn and Jupiter but these two could have giant cities which more "technologically advanced" by having incubators that could breed and grow Ender Dragons and other types of flying mobs. This is a problem, why are Ender dragons included in Saturn AND Jupiter? They are limited to their own dimension and that's it.
Venus and Mercury could be sort of power stations for these two Alien civilizations and could send power to them. This new power could be introduced as a new block but rather than being physical it would be more of something you attach to currently existing blocks making things like Redstone easier to be maintained.
What 'two Alien civilizations'? And you shouldn't add another power/electricity system, again, redstone is complicated in itself.
What kind of blocks could be added?
This new block can only be obtained by going to mercury and Venus and is harder to obtain due to it distance to the Sun. You would need a special space suit for mars that would allow to breath its unique atmosphere. How are these two ideas linked? Your thread is getting harder and harder to read. 1. What new block? You didn't even tell me the name. 2. Distance to the sun? I thought you were trying to disregard the actual realism in all the planets (breathing, etc etc) 3. No, add a spacesuit that can travel to all of the planets.
That spacesuit could be upgraded with slots in it that you would upgrade to be able to go to the rest of the planets. So basically a new "enchantment" system? You could just enchant the spacesuit, or don't upgrade it at all and just go to all the planets.
However in order to obtain the special upgrade that allows you to obtain this new type of Redstone you would have to search through hidden labs on these planets. You realise that you just went from upgrading spacesuits to obtaining "new redstone" in one sentence? BTW didn't you already talk about the new redstone?
Overall if you have read this far you can tell that i'm very enthusiastic about the idea of a Space Exploration Update and have thought of it a lot. No you didn't, not at all. Your idea was poorly presented and vauge.
You wanted more i'll give you more...
It may take a few update to add these "Advanced technologies" but that is completely fine because if you've stuck with the game this far, you'd be willing to see it grow more and give you more content to explore. No, no, no no, you need to be able to put all of your ideas into one update. Hypothetically, Mojang decides that and you don't.
Planet Specifics
Mars
Mars would not only be a barren wasteland but would have being living here and would have temples and all sorts of new adventures that wait for you. There would be villages ,much like in Galacticraft but instead would be more open and suggesting that these Martians can survive in these sorts of places. You have included little to no detail about Mars! If you're adding 9 dimensions, you need to deliver.
Ores here
Certain ores could spawn here that would make the planet What planet?
more unique and a bigger reason to visit the planet. A few ores I had in mind would be named after the scientists that discovered mars. The first would be the most common and would be called Brahemium (brah'-he-me-um), named after the the scientist Tycho Brahe who had made accurate measurements of mars' position in 1576. The information about the origin is pointless, you described that but couldn't even tell me what pickaxe you needed to mine the Brahemium, or the fact that you needed to smelt it.
Okay, why didn't you include this earlier? 1. Is there a Brahemium Block? Does it look like an ingot? Does the map look like it has Brahemium in it? 2. What about the map itself? Does it have the same scale as the Overworld?
Kepler would have the most use as it would map out the solar system and show where planets are currently located. That kinda makes Brahemium useless.
This map of the solar system would refresh every time a player faced it so a player would have to turn around and turn back toward it to see where planets are. The crafting recipe for this would be 4 of the smelted ore in each corner, 4 paper in each of the middle sections of each side and 1 compass in the middle. Again, you missed a lot of information.
A sketch (piece of paper) made entirely made out of metal? Sounds interesting, no. Why the diamond?
Mars Boss
The mars boss would have 400 health Since this Mars boss is very OP (200 hearts more than the Ender Dragon), does the boss have weaknesses? What does said boss look like?
and have a specific building where he would spawn at. The building where he spawns at and would be a dungeon at a very suspicious village( may or may not be abandoned, still deciding) and would spawn very rarely. The spawn chance of this village would be very rare and only 6 would spawn per world or every mars dimension. Okay, so how big is Mars?
Neptune
Neptune would be similar to mars but would mainly consist of creatures and not beings. What?
Creature here?
The creature here would be large, very large. What is the creature called?
I don't have a name for these creatures Why not?
and will be uploading concept art of them in the near future, so names are needed and suggestions are open. Look, this is your thread, you can't just sit back and let us fill in the blanks!
The beings here will be called Hunters and will have 20 health and will be equipped with a bow and will be able to fire 1 arrow every 5 seconds. These will be hostile and will be found in groups of 4. They will travel with Snow dogs from Neptune which will also attack when their Hunter gets low on health. That's very OP, the fact that the hunters have 20 health (with a bow), is enough. But in groups of 4? That's basically fighting OP skeleton gangs. Not only that, but you can't even kill them without another mob trying to attack you.
Wait, what about Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto?

This also seems a recipe for recreating the Planetville trope .
Unless each planet had enough content to explore and discover, each planet would just feel like another biome instead of another planet. Like fishg said, though, if you are able to come up with enough content (and you present it in a more readable way) I would very much enjoy reading.
At the moment, No Support.
Check out my suggestions! Here is one of them:
(You mean 1.7.10? I don't think anyone cares about making mods for 1.7.9)
Galacticraft and Advanced Rocketry have already updated to at least 1.10.2 if you want to check them out, but I fail to see how that's linked to the game's lifetime.
This is a pretty short description for an entire dimension.
What's the ground made of? What ores spawn? And give me more information on these Aliens and their temple too. What does the temple look like? How much HP do the aliens have? Etcetera, etcetera.
Neptune is a gas giant... What makes you think you could land there? (It also has wind blowing at hundreds of miles per hour.)
The Ender dragon is specific to the End Dimension, it doesn't need to exist in another dimension.
Again, you didn't specify any real details about these cities, mobs or warrior races. You need to specify this stuff, it's not our job or Mojang's job to write the suggestion for you.
When do I ever maintain Redstone... and how do I do it?
Are you trying to suggest a power system similar to Redstone Flux? I don't think that fits into Vanilla Minecraft very well, but you haven't really specified what this power is used for or how exactly I generate or transport it.
The atmosphere on Mars is only 0.6% of Earth's atmospheric pressure. You wouldn't need space suit equipment different from visiting a planet without an atmosphere. You would need a very special space suit to go to Venus because of the previously mentioned atmospheric pressure.
We already have enchanting, spacesuits don't need a different upgrading system from everything else.
What do these labs look like? Where do they spawn on planets? What is this new type of Redstone that you never mentioned before now?
You never even mentioned how to get to the planets...
No Support.
Very few details, way too many features, missing parts... I'm not completely object to the idea of a space dimension(s) in Minecraft, but this what little this suggestion does describe doesn't meet my expectations.
My avatar is a texture from a small block game I made in Python. It's not very good and it probably won't work if you install it.
I'm very alone in my Minecraft worlds as I don't have a very good internet connection to run a server. If you're like me, you might be interested in my Posse mod suggestion.
not minecrafty at all, but keep on posting your ides. great potential and make your next post reasonable.
.
??
How is that not minecrafty? Guns, cars and phones aren't minecrafty but space, rockets, and planets have no reason to not fit into the game.
What would happen?
