The turao is a hostile cyan-green-grey parrot with wing claws. They are tamed, or made not hostile by feeding them bananas, which grow in the jungle like cocoa beans. They are weak, but have high knockback. If sat on a fence, they can be fed a banana, they can be made to 'kick' you very far, dealing no damage.
I've heard of parrots, llamas, polar bears, sheep, pigs, zombies, and skeletons before this post, but never have I heard of a turaco.
For a mob idea to make it into Minecraft, it usually has to be:
- A well-known animal (Sheep, Bears, Parrots)
- An original idea that can be easily grasped (Creepers, Blazes)
- A new take on an old idea or real animal (Zombies, Spiders, Slime)
A Turaco is a real life animal, but it's not really relatable to anyone in the United States or the United Kingdom that isn't a Biologist or a Bird-watcher. (And probably only a few people in those groups.)

My avatar is a texture from a small block game I made in Python. It's not very good and it probably won't work if you install it.
I'm very alone in my Minecraft worlds as I don't have a very good internet connection to run a server. If you're like me, you might be interested in my Posse mod suggestion.
