As of now, village popularity is basically useless.
I suggest that once you have +10 popularity, trades with villagers will be better.
Trades requiring a purchase with an emerald would be cheaper, by 1-4 emeralds. (Depending on your popularity)
If the purchase only requires one emerald, it would increase the amount of items you get from the trade. Ex: 1 Emerald for 7 cooked porkchops, would increase to 10 porkchops.
If a villager offers an emerald the amount of the item needed would decrease.
Example: 24 wheat for an emerald would decrease to 16-20 wheat.
By continuing trade with villagers and increasing popularity, it would eventually reward the player.
If you have a negative amount of popularity , deals would become considerably worse.
Once your popularity is at the lowest level, villagers will ultimately deny any trade with the player.
With this feature being updated, more will be stray from attacking villagers.
I'm sure more people would consider trading if they got discounts and bargains.
I will explain more effects that may occur due to your popularity within a village.
Good Effects: These are things that will happen once your popularity is +5 and up.
The obvious and first thing to happen would be trade discounts and bargains.
You will begin getting these at +5 popularity.
(Which I have already explained)
If your popularity is at +10, villagers become "willing" to breed more frequently after trading. (Or not)
Once your popularity is at the maximum +15, villagers will have a chance to give you like they do to other villager. A village must have sufficient food to do so. The food they give you is limited to what they can carry. (Bread, Beetroots, Potatoes, and Carrots)
You may receive 1-3 food of any type, and only one villager will do it per day.
Bad Effects: These will happen once your popularity is at -5.
At -5 popularity, trades will become more expensive and emeralds will be harder to obtain.
At -10 popularity villagers will deny trade with the player. (Though not all will)
At -15 popularity, villagers will flee at first sight. All villagers will deny trade, and iron golems will attack the player.
I hope you enjoy these ideas, and I will make another thread on how to increase and decrease village popularity.
Would there be ways to increase popularity apart from trading? Otherwise, reaching the lowest popularity would result in being unable to increase it due to being unable to trade.
Perhaps your popularity very slowly increases to -10 once yo go below that number.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Console Battle is two games rolled into one: gambling (whether or not you get one of the OP weapons) and betting (which teammate won't turn on you, since teaming is pretty much a requirement to kill off another team)! Of course, it's not all chance; at its core, Battle is about triumphing and defeating other players... by kicking them out if they win to make yourself feel better.

Yes. I think a a lot more could be done with Village Popularity. I also think there should be more of a penalty for hurting villagers.
Check out my suggestions! Here is one of them:
The penalty as of now is fine.
It only requires hitting a villager 15 times to reach the lowest amount of popularity possible.
This just gives me the vibes of the Karma System in Fallout.

I thought of it while editing this.
