Haven't you ever hated it when you have to pile up two blocks of dirt to get somewhere, or put in a couple of ladders that leaves the path open to Zombies and other hostile mobs? Well, how about a new tool that makes it so you can climb without the hastle of that?
Climbing Claws: Edit: It allows you to climb up to (Edit)18 blocks high when facing them(Like a spider!), as well as pull yourself up onto a ledge if your head is above the block your body's at. In attacking it does the same amount of damage as a Stone sword with it's Diamond version. Edit: It can stop fall damage if you go up against a wall while having them in your hand and falling. However it will not work with blocks that are only stacked one high.
The crafting recipe would be:
:Blank:
:String:
:String: :String:
Edit: Tool Duration: It would have the same duration as any Hoe made of the same material, with it losing a point for every four blocks you climb. When attacking with it, it will lose twice as many points as a sword of the same tier as it.
Just an idea I had and wanted to type down before I forgot. Tell me what you hate, what you like, what you think would be better about it, etc.
What is the durability for each tier, the same as normal tools?
Does it lose durability while climbing? How much/how often?
Can I use it to stop fall damage while falling by using it on a wall?

It's okay, but I don't think I'd make these claws when I could easily stack blocks below myself.

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.
The point is to not waste blocks when it's just a few blocks high to get to something, as well as the practicailty of not having to use ladders all the time. Plus, it is cool, right?

Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.

If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.

It does seem pretty useful for those who would like to climb up things without placing ladders/vines/blocks. Though I use creative mode and can just fly when I want to climb, these would be helpful for those who can't.

So yeah, support ☺
This is meant for survival. I can't tell you how many times I've been stuck in a ravine with a broken Pick, and ran out of blocks before I got up to the top. Skelly's always knocked me off...

Now it seems much more useful, and would serve a better purpose at climbing large structures or walls than a water bucket.
