if Mojang did add smashable glass, then people would ask for other stuff like that, such as pushable sand, or rollable snow blocks, or karate-choppable wood. This would eventually turn into an every-single-block-has-a-unique-thing-about-it sort of game, kind of like Mariokart.
I never see that much of a positive in "dyed everything d00d!" because it's too much and just pointlessly overspoiling. It dampens the point of the colored blocks we have if everything can just change to any color. You'd think the colored glass and clay would be enough.

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.
In and of itself, not a bad suggestion, albeit a persistent one for years.
I was sort of thinking of making yet another colored brick etc. mod until they started playing with dyed clay/terracotta/whatever and realized there really wasn't a need for it now; who knows, maybe in future updates?

I agree, making every block dye-able just means that you don't get to appreciate the palette that the original blocks give you. Besides that, think of how many blocks would look almost exactly like their non-dyed counterparts, like light grey cobblestone or brown spruce wood? And I don't really think I'll ever use anything purple-colored except more modern-looking blocks like concrete or glass. (For a alien or futuristic feel.)

My avatar is a texture from a small block game I made in Python. It's not very good and it probably won't work if you install it.
I'm very alone in my Minecraft worlds as I don't have a very good internet connection to run a server. If you're like me, you might be interested in my Posse mod suggestion.
The developers should make any type of wood plank be able to be dyed. They should also add dyed bricks for more variety.

If they added dyed wood and bricks, people would ask for dyed everything.
People have done this since like 2011.
