I approve of this. There should only be a rare chance of encountering an armored zombie, though. Kinda like the Spider-Jockey. Seeing an entire field full of diamond-armored zombies at night would be unnerving.

Actually, not rare. Just random, with stone armour. Like this:

Ah, thank you for pointing that out. But I did find out (after researching a bit on the wiki) that the armor on the zombies didn't actually increase the zombie's defense in Survival Test. If the armor were to actually provide additional health or something, these kinds of zombies should have a slightly lower spawn rate, depending on the quality of the armor.
They should have leather armour and drop it upon death, maybe with half durability. Would solve the feather problem and not make them drop something too overpowered like iron armour.

dude, everyone knows they need a random chance of diamond armor too...and maybe for zombie pigmen random chance of gold armor, since they have gold swords
The common zombie should have no armour and you should also get random zombies with iron armour. It seems interesting like knights that rose from their grave.
Great Idea. It might help make zombies more dangerous than a chicken. No, really. I see chickens as a bigger threat to my safety than these green guys. Chickens have a nasty habit of pushing me into holes or my mineshaft.
More seriously, this would be perfect assuming they only drop feathers/degraded leather armor, no iron/diamond gear whatsoever.
What's so overpowered about dropping iron armor every once in a while? You get more iron than you know what to do with after exploring a cave system or two anyway.
Probably not a good idea to make dungeons spawn armored zombies, but I see no harm in the occasional armored zombie dropping iron armor.

I agree, this needs to come back.
Ah. I only learned the game existed some months ago...Supported.

Diamond for you!
This. Now.
It would kind of be overwhelming and overpowered to kill a few zombies and have a full suit of iron armor unless it was in bad shape.
They are zombies, which would mean that the armor didn't help keep them alive.

I think armored skeletons might be cool too.
